Jordan becomes Jaguars' third free-agent signing

Florida Times-UnionJordan Shipley has turned a six-game audition to finish last year into a two-year contract with the Jaguars that was officially announced Thursday. The sides agreed to terms earlier this week on a deal worth a reported $1.315 million. Shipley is the third free agent to re-sign with the Jaguars, joining cornerback Antwaun Molden and center Brad Meester, both of whom signed one-year contracts. A former third-round pick by Cincinnati, Shipley, 27, is expected to compete for the No. 3 receiver role behind Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon. read more

Florida Times-Union — The Jaguars officially announced the re-signing of free agent receiver Jordan Shipley today. The sides agreed to terms on Wednesday to a two-year deal worth a reported $1.315 million. Shipley hit the open market earlier this month after the Jaguars declined to extend him a restricted free agent tender. Shipley played in six games for the Jaguars last year after signing in November and had 23 catches for 244 yards and one touchdown. He also returned six kickoffs and 10 punts. read more

The deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Jaguars’ RFAs are DE George Selvie, FB Brock Bolen, C John Estes, WR Jordan Shipley, LB Kyle Bosworth and TE Zach Potter. This year’s tenders are: First round tender: $2.879 million. (If a player is tendered at this amount and another team signs him, they must give up their first round pick.
