A Folk Hero Turns 29: Happy Birthday, Julian Edelman!

Happy Birthday to the Patriots' wide receiver. The odds were stacked against him. Not everyone is cut out to handle the flip and turn into a star, or perhaps even a superstar, at the next level. Not everyone can make that transition. Not everyone is Julian Edelman. That’s what makes Devin Gardner such an intriguing prospect for the Patriots, who signed him as an undrafted rookie free agent. Many people are familiar with the name because he was the quarterback at Tom Brady’s alma mater. Many watched him play at Michigan.
