Thigh injury clouds status for Sunday FOXBOROUGH - Wide receiver Julian Edelman is less than 100 percent following the New England Patriots' 42-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Edelman (thigh) landed awkwardly on top of a yardage marker in Sunday's game, and was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice. (Boston.com) FF Today's Take: It's too early to know whether Edelman will be able to play this week so fantasy owners should prepare for all scenarios while checking back as the week progresses.

Tom Brady ‘doesn’t have time’ for Julian Edelman’s Kent State highlights

FOXBORO — It’s no secret Tom Brady and Julian Edelman share a close bond. But when it comes to Brady looking at Edelman’s college highlights from Kent State from when he was a quarterback, the 37-year-old Brady doesn’t have anytime for that. “I tell him probably three times a day,” Edelman said. “I try to […]

Edelman on Brady vs. Luck: 'I like my quarterback'

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Ask New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman about Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and he won’t give you much detail. Edelman doesn’t have to worry about matching up against Luck; he’s more concerned with the Colts’ defense heading into Sunday’s game between the two teams. However, ask Edelman about his quarterback, Tom Brady, in the context of Luck and you’ll raise his eyebrow.

Explaining Julian Edelman's $5k fine

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman's 84-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Broncos, which culminated with him firing the football into the stands, will cost him a $5,512 fine.  That is standard operating procedure for the NFL, which views throwing footballs into the crowd as a safety issue as it creates the potential for crowd control problems (e.g. fans fighting over a football, knocking into bystanders, diving over unsuspecting people, falling over railings etc.

Tom Brady: 'Who's ready for the weekend?'

What's Tom Brady up to on his bye weekend? We're not sure, but we presume there's some kicking back on tap after the Patriots' quarterback posted this to Facebook on Friday morning. Teen-aged Brady isn't nearly as fired up about the prom as he was after Julian Edelman's punt return for a touchdown on Sunday. He's come a long way since his days San Mateo:

Julian Edelman: Tom Brady ’20 years older than us’ but still one of the guys

FOXBORO — Julian Edelman knows enough to respect his elders. The receiver, who was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday for his 84-yard punt return in Sunday’s win over the Broncos, was smart enough to give a shout-out to quarterback Tom Brady after the 37-year-old signal-caller ran all the way from […]

Julian Edelman: Tom Brady still 'one of the guys'

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is a future Hall of Famer and in contention for the distinction of the best quarterback of all time, but that doesn’t mean he acts any differently from when he was a young kid out of Michigan who was selected 199th overall in the NFL draft. Brady addressed whether he is the same guy he was around teammates as when he first entered the league and when he originally took the reins of the Patriots’ offense.

Leftovers from Tom Brady: Lessons gleaned from veteran leadership

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Leftovers from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's news conference Wednesday morning: On running out from the bench to the end zone to congratulate Julian Edelman on his punt return. "That was the first time [I've done that]. I was kind of winded. That was probably the longest I've ran in a long time. It was a great reason to do it. Jules [Edelman] is just, he's awesome. I love that guy. He's just a special person, player, friend.
