Fantasy Update

The Seahawks safety missed the first NFL game of his career last week. Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas went down with what appeared to be a left leg injury against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday Night Football. Thomas was going for an interception and collided with teammate Kam Chancellor, and grabbed his left leg immediately after hitting the ground. Thomas attempted to get up, but was unable to bear weight on that leg. After being essentially carried from the field by Seahawks’ athletic performance staff, Thomas was examined on the sideline. ...

This is not the real Earl Thomas, this is just a tribute

This is not the real Earl Thomas, this is just a tribute

The Seattle Seahawks will be without safety Earl Thomas for the rest of the season. He was the second player ever drafted by John Schneider, one of three players left from the 2010 roster (Kam Chancellor, Jon Ryan), and no doubt will be a fixture of Seattle sports for as long as sports exist in Seattle. The above video (if you did not realize it was a video, click play) by Jeff Collet exemplifies Earl’s impact on the team as best it can, but nothing can really get across how special of a player he is. This is just a tribute. (For another tribute, re-read my 30 under 30 on Thomas from...

Earl Thomas unlikely to play against Packers

Earl Thomas suffered a severe leg injury and appears highly unlikely to suit up next week in Green Bay. Though the Green Bay Packers face long odds of upsetting the Seattle Seahawks next week, they appear likely to avoid one of the best playmakers in the league. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, star safety Earl Thomas suffered a broken leg, keeping him "out indefinitely," putting him in severe jeopardy of missing the rest of the season. The injury occurred during the first half when Thomas collided with fellow defensive back Kam Chancellor during a routine tackle. After attempting...

Film Gulls: Kam Chancellor is the most dominant safety in the NFL

They waited 650 days. 650 painful, exhausting days. 650 days of grueling work and tireless effort. 650 days since the most horrifying loss in Super Bowl history. After 650 days, the Seattle Seahawks can take solace in the redemption that they achieved against the New England Patriots. In one of the most exciting football matches you’ll ever see, the Seahawks toppled the Patriots by a score of 31-24 after an unbelievable goal-line stand. Russell Wilson played out of his mind, carving up the New England secondary with his old acquaintance (Doug Baldwin) and shiny new Swiss army knife (C.J....

Tom Brady has injury to quad, not knee, but will be ready for Sunday thanks to ‘good buddy Alex [Guerrero]’

In Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Seahawks, Tom Brady took a low hit from Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor in the third quarter and appeared to be bothered by it the remainder of the game, flexing it after a number of plays. It was assumed the injury was to Brady’s right knee, but Monday night when […]

Rob Gronkowski on hit from Earl Thomas: (He’s) like a missile

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was held somewhat in check against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night as Seattle won 31-24, gaining 56 yards on three catches. That’s in part due to the massive games had by Martellus Bennett (102 yards) and Julian Edelman (99 yards), but also some credit must be given to the job done by the Seahawks’ secondary, specifically safeties Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. Among those plays by Thomas was a hit on Gronk that left him stunned in the second quarter: Earl Thomas with the BOOM on Gronk. pic.twitter.com/ySkzHW9aeM— uSTADIUM...

Kam Chancellor on final play vs. Rob Gronkowski: ‘I was getting pushed the whole time’

FOXBORO — Just like in Super Bowl XLIX, it came down to the last play at the 1-yard line between the Patriots and Seahawks, but this time it was Seattle coming out on top. With less than 20 seconds left and trailing 31-24, the Patriots had first-and-goal from inside the five-yard line, but couldn’t score […]

Weighing all the scenarios of what the Seahawks could do with Kam Chancellor

Is 2016 the last year of Kam Chancellor in Seattle? On Saturday, Pete Carroll ruled Kam Chancellor out for the Monday Night Football extravaganza against the Buffalo Bills (who currently lead the NFL in rushing), due to a pulled groin he sustained in practice the week after the bye week. This is now the fourth straight game that “Bam Bam” Kam is going to miss this season, which is half of all of the Seahawks games so far in 2016. This isn’t the first time that Chancellor has missed games; in fact, this will now be the seventh game he’s missed in the last 11 regular season contests....

Amari Cooper, Ben Roethlisberger, and the NFL’s most impactful injuries for Week 9

Kam Chancellor is expected to miss yet another game for the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, while teammate Michael Bennett will be out for another 2-3 weeks. Faithful Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas is going to miss this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, less than a week after he avoided being traded yet again. For the Kansas City Chiefs, running back Jamaal Charles was placed on IR this week, and his replacement, Spencer Ware, is out with a concussion.
