Seahawks deny reports of a divided locker room

Russell Wilson, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor denied reports of a division within the Seahawks players in the locker room. “There’s none at all,” Wilson said. “If anything, I think that we have continued to build.”

Seattle Seahawks' Wilson, Chancellor and Thomas: No division in locker room

Three of the most high-profile Seattle Seahawks --- quarterback Russell Wilson and safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor --- met the media today prior to practice (for Wilson and Thomas it was simply their regular day to talk to the press). And amid some national reports that the Seahawks are locker room divided, the three in their interview sessions presented a united front saying that everything is fine. "There's no division in our locker room,'' Wilson said. "There’s none at all. If anything I think that we have continued to build, continuing to grow, if anything. I truly believe...

Seahawks injury report for Wednesday: Chancellor sits out with ankle injury

Seattle's official injury report for Wednesday is mostly as expected. But one thing to note is that S Kam Chancellor sat out with an ankle injury. Chancellor has dealt with an ankle issue all season, admitting he thought about surgery after the San Diego game. After that game, he said that some changes in shoes had helped solve the issue. But Chancellor was noticeably slowed at times Sunday against the Rams, as teammate Richard Sherman noted today when talking to reporters. "I think  last game it kind of flared up on him again a little bit,'' Sherman said. "He was able to overcome it and...

This Week In Defense: Cowboys at Seahawks

Narrative Of The game I know a lot of people had concerns about the Seahawks' defense heading in: lack of pass rush, lack of turnovers, the sudden penchant to give up huge plays in the passing game the last few weeks. The team hasn't looked tuned in and smooth the way it did in 2013, and folks at home are zeroed in a little more. Key injuries to Kam Chancellor, Jeremy Lane, and now Byron Maxwell have left the secondary searching for itself despite some plays from Marcus Burley. It's been a tough road through five games and it appears there may be an identity crisis on defense as well as the...

Dallas Cowboys LB Rolando McClain, Seattle Seahawks S Kam Chancellor active Sunday, but who isn’t?

SEATTLE — Reserve safety Jakar Hamilton and reserve defensive end Jack Crawford are among the seven inactive players Sunday for the Dallas Cowboys at the Seattle Seahawks. The good news is that linebacker Rolando McClain is active with his groin …

Kam Chancellor to play for Seahawks Sunday

The  biggest news about Seattle's inactive list for Sunday's game against Dallas is who isn't on it --- strong safety Kam Chancellor. Chancellor had been listed as questionable for the Seahawks today with a strained hip that held him out of practice Thursday and Friday. Coach Pete Carroll had said it would be a gametime decision whether Chancellor would play after they viewed him during warmups. Chancellor, though, apparently warmed up well and is on the active list today. However, center Max Unger was among the seven inactives for Seattle, unable to make it back from a strained foot...

Indicator Kam Chancellor may not play: Seahawks sign S Steven Terrell off practice squad

The Seahawks made a roster move this afternoon that is an indicator strong safety Kam Chancellor may not play tomorrow against Dallas because of his new strained hip: they signed second-year safety Steven Terrell off their practice squad to provide insurance in case Chancellor can’t go. The corresponding move was waiving seldom-used defensive end Greg Scruggs, who if he clears waivers this weekend could end up on Seattle’s practice squad. The move also back-fills a roster move from earlier the week, when the Seahawks released safety Josh Thomas to add sign center Patrick Lewis. Lewis...

Seahawks add safety depth by promoting Terrell from practice squad, waiving DE Greg Scruggs

In a sign that starting safety Kam Chancellor might be even more than questionable for Sunday's game against Dallas, the Seahawks today promoted safety Steven Terrell from the practice squad to the active roster., To make room for Terrell, the Seahawks waived defensive lineman Greg Scruggs, a three-

Seahawks’ Sunday vs Dallas would be a lot tougher without Chancellor; picks for week 6

It will be a game-time decision for Kam Chancellor Sunday. The Seahawks’ strong safety and key to the league’s No. 1 run defense has a new hip injury and coach Pete Carroll said he is questionable for Seattle’s game against Dallas and NFL rushing leader Demarco Murray. Chancellor missed practices Thursday and Friday. Carroll said Chancellor will test the hip during pregame warmups. The Seahawks will then make a decision on his availability 90 minutes before kickoff. Chancellor has missed only one game because of injury in his five NFL seasons with Seattle. On Oct. 2, 2011, Atari Bigby...

Seahawks’ concerns: S Kam Chancellor questionable, C Max Unger highly doubtful for Dallas

Chancellor’s new hip injury comes as the key to Seattle’s top-ranked run defense was preparing to face the Cowboys and NFL rushing leader Demarco Murray on Sunday. Stephen Schilling is…

Seahawks Max Unger doubtful, Kam Chancellor questionable vs. Dallas

A foot strain is likely to keep Seahawks center Max Unger out of action Sunday vs. Dallas, while safety Kam Chancellor has a hip issue that makes him questionable for the game.

Run-stopping S Kam Chancellor (hip) questionable vs. rushing Cowboys; C Max Unger (foot) doubtful; Harvin fine

This is the wrong week for Kam Chancellor to have a new hip injury. Then again, no week is a good one for the Seahawks to be without their thudding strong safety, a key to why Seattle has the league’s No. 1 defense against the run right now. But Chancellor being “questionable” for Sunday’s game against Dallas because of a strained hip, according to coach Pete Carroll, is extra worrisome because the Cowboys have the NFL’s leading rusher, Demarco Murray. “Everything they do concerns us, particularly their effectiveness in running right at you. They are good at it,” Carroll said...
