Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott said that running back LeSean McCoy has soreness in his groin and will be rested for Friday's practice. What It Means: McDermott did add that the day was a scheduled off day for McCoy, but that there isn't much concern for his Week 2 status against the Carolina Panthers. Still, this should be concerning for McCoy's longevity this season, having come down with wrist and groin problems after just one game. McCoy is being asked to do a lot for the Bills and we expect nothing less from him in Week 2. Our models project him for 19.9 touches (16.7...

Five Buffalo Bills players to watch against the Carolina Panthers: recap

Five Buffalo Bills players to watch against the Carolina Panthers: recap

Some of the key players produced and others....... well, didn't Before every game our staff highlights five Buffalo Bills players to watch in that weekends match up. This week our five players had varying degrees of success in the loss to the Carolina Panthers. RB LeSean McCoy As a whole, I think it’s safe to say the Bills offense goes how Shady goes. On Sunday he went nowhere and so did the Bills offense. McCoy only had 12 yards on 9 carries, the longest of which was 6 yards. McCoy also only totaled 34 yards in the passing “attack”. Every time he gained anything and you started to...

Buffalo Bills offensive line, LeSean McCoy no-show against Carolina Panthers

Buffalo Bills offensive line, LeSean McCoy no-show against Carolina Panthers

The Bills offense was not good on Sunday. The Buffalo Bills offense went nowhere for most of the day on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The supposed engine for that side of the ball - the running game - was corralled into check by the Panthers all day. Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy was held to just nine yards on 12 rushes in the game, including an 11-yard loss in the second half. He had nowhere to run most of the day and was stopped on a 4th-and-1 attempt early in the second half when Buffalo’s offense could get nothing going. After placing third in the league rushing the ball...

LeSean McCoy (wrist, groin) removed from Bills' injury report

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy (wrist, groin) was taken off the team's final injury report for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. What It Means: McCoy has some "general soreness" in his groin, per head coach Sean McDermott, but it won't keep him out of Sunday's matchup in Carolina. He's locked in as a RB1 option for Week 2. numberFire's models project McCoy for offensive 19.9 touches (16.7 rushes), 111.3 total yards, and 0.62 touchdowns at a price of $8,600 on FanDuel (FD). His projected output of 16.3 FD points makes him the 4th-best option in our Week 2 fantasy...

Buffalo Bills injury report: McCoy, Johnson both on track to play at Carolina

Jerel Worthy will miss his second straight game with a concussion The Buffalo Bills are a little banged up after their season-opening win over the New York Jets, but a couple of starters who missed some practice time during the week should be ready when the team travels to Charlotte to take on the Carolina Panthers. Most notable on the injury report is star running back LeSean McCoy. After injuring his wrist during the opener, McCoy was listed on the injury report all week, albeit as a full participant. On Friday, however, he was held out of practice for what Head Coach Sean McDermott...

5 questions with Buffalo Rumblings: the Bills are in for a fight against Carolina’s linebacker trio

5 questions with Buffalo Rumblings: the Bills are in for a fight against Carolina’s linebacker trio

The Panthers will look to stop Buffalo’s high-powered rushing attack. Are they up to the task? To get us ready for Sunday’s Panthers-Bills matchup, I spoke with Jeff Hunter from Buffalo Rumblings to get his thoughts on a few questions I had. You can read the Q&A below, and be sure to head over to Buffalo Rumblings to read my answers to his questions. Who impressed you the most in your Week 1 win over the Jets? Who disappointed you the most? Keeping in mind the Bills were playing the Jets, there were quite a few impressive performances. LeSean McCoy accumulated 154 yards from scrimmage,...

Bills RB LeSean McCoy rolled up 159 all-purpose yards last week in the win over the Jets including 110 rushing yards. What McCoy is finding however, is a lot of the running back names he competes with for the NFL rushing title are changing. “When I was trying to compete with other running backs, it […]

Buffalo Bills league leaders: LeSean McCoy, Ramon Humber near the top

Buffalo Bills league leaders: LeSean McCoy, Ramon Humber near the top

McCoy is currently the third-leading rusher in the league, while Humber ranks second in solo tackles Buffalo Bills typically feel like their team is overlooked around the league. One way to change that is comparing Bills players to players around the NFL to see how they stack up. Here is your weekly look at some individual stats. Passing Tyrod Taylor’s 224 passing yards are currently good for 16th in the NFL, just ahead of the Browns’ DeShone Kizer (220) but behind Washington’s Kirk Cousins (240). He’s currently tied with five others for fifth with two touchdown passes; five of...

Buffalo Bills have rushed for a touchdown in 13 straight games

Buffalo Bills have rushed for a touchdown in 13 straight games

The run game continues its 2016 campaign. On Sunday against the New York Jets, the Buffalo Bills tied a team record by scoring a rushing touchdown in 13 straight games. It also extends the longest active streak in the NFL dating back to last season. Mike Tolbert was the one who bulldozed his way into the end zone after LeSean McCoy left the game for a play with an injury scare. The backbone of this team for this season, much like last, will be the run game. The last time Buffalo didn’t score a rushing touchdown was their 16-0 shutout of the Patriots in October of 2016. McCoy scored on a...

Today’s Bills Links also starts to make that shift, as the analysis from Sunday continues with some previews beginning for the game at Carolina. Highlights today include comments from Rick Dennison as well as interviews from Sean McDermott and Eric Wood on WGR 550. Bills not backing off LeSean McCoy's workload

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison indicated he has no plans to back off running back LeSean McCoy's workload in an effort to keep his feature running back healthy over the season. What It Means: Dennison added that he "wasn't counting," when asked if he knew how many touches McCoy got in Week 1. After touching the ball 27 times, McCoy's short term fantasy outlook is great if he keeps getting the ball like that. Long-term is the question mark for his durability handling that workload every week over 16 games. McCoy produced 110 yards on the ground, to go with 5...
