5 potential free agent options to replace LeSean McCoy

5 potential free agent options to replace LeSean McCoy

Each of these guys would certainly carry a smaller 2018 cap hit than McCoy’s big one. LeSean McCoy has undoubtably excelled in his three seasons as the Buffalo Bills’ starting running back, but according to spotrac his current contract carries a cap hit of $8.9 million, which is $2 million more than any of back across the league currently under contract (until Le’Veon Bell inks his deal, anyway). McCoy is also going to hit the dreaded age of 30 by the time the 2018 season rolls around. Now, it’s not likely the Bills will move on from McCoy — he’s been the team’s most...

How much cap space and money could the Buffalo Bills save by cutting LeSean McCoy?

How much cap space and money could the Buffalo Bills save by cutting LeSean McCoy?

They won’t save enough to justify cutting him, that’s for sure. The Buffalo Bills have nearly $31 million in cap space going into the 2018 NFL season, according to Spotrac. If they were to release LeSean McCoy, their best offensive player, they would add savings to that figure. However, that move would be a terrible one heading into a year where the Bills will look to build momentum after making the playoffs for the first time in seventeen years. If Buffalo Bills cut LeSean McCoy, there are 2018 NFL Draft options at running back

If the Bills decide to get younger at running back, there are some studs. The Buffalo Bills offense wasn’t very good this year and with a new offensive coordinator coming into the fold, the team could decide to completely blow up the roster at key positions and start from scratch; new quarterback, new running back, new wide receivers, new offensive linemen. If - and it’s a huge if - Buffalo decides to move on from LeSean McCoy, there are a few draft options to replace him. (More than likely, we’ll be looking at Tier 2 or Tier 3 guys as number 2 running backs to give McCoy a breather...

Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde withdraws from Pro Bowl

Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde withdraws from Pro Bowl

Hyde suffered a concussion in the Bills’ playoff loss to the Jaguars Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde has withdrawn from playing in the 2018 Pro Bowl. Hyde, who was scheduled to play in the game as a reserve, suffered a concussion in the Bills playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars during the divisional round. This is the likely reason as to why he elected not to play. He will be replaced by Kevin Byard of the Tennessee Titans. Bills running Back LeSean McCoy and offensive lineman Richie Incognito are still scheduled to play in the Pro Bowl. No other Bills were named to replace injured...
