Detroit Free Press Busy schedules being what they are, Glover Quin still hasn't met - or even talked to - his new partner in the Detroit Lions' secondary, Louis Delmas. But Quin, who signed a five-year, $23.5-million deal to anchor the back end of the Lions' defense, said it won't be long before the two safeties are finishing each other's sentences. At least, that has been his experience when it comes to football-related chemistry in the past.

Pride Of Detroit Before safety Louis Delmas re-signed with the Detroit Lions, he took visits with the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers. It looked like the Lions were going to lose Delmas since he was taking visits, but he ended up deciding to stay with them in the end. At the league meetings in Arizona this week, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about Delmas, and he had some really positive things to say about their meeting. From the Lions' official site: "I really liked him," Harbaugh said Sunday. "I spent some time with him. I really enjoyed being around him. He knows football. He know...

Detroit Lions March 20, 2013Detroit Free Press According to language in his contract, if Delmas plays 42% of the Lions' defensive snaps this year, he'll make an additional $109,375 for every game he's on the 46-player game-day roster.

Pride Of Detroit After the Detroit Lions re-signed safety Louis Delmas, it was a bit surprising to find out that his two-year deal is worth $9.465 million. That seems like a lot for a player who hasn't been able to consistently stay healthy, especially considering he's had so many knee problems. As it turns out, there's a catch. Delmas will only make the full worth of his contract if he can stay healthy. Delmas' incentive-laden deal protects the Lions if he misses time again next season, and it is set to reward him for actually being on the field. From the Free Press' Dave Birkett: Delmas, who has mis...

Pride Of Detroit We've reached the point in NFL free agency where things are finally starting to settle down. That doesn't mean teams are done signing players by any means, though. The Detroit Lions continued making moves on Friday by re-signing Dylan Gandy and Louis Delmas, for example. Will they make any additional moves this weekend? It's certainly a possibility. As usual, you can track the latest news below and chat about it in the comments. Niners Nation Another day, and another potential target for the San Francisco 49ers in free agency has signed elsewhere. Louis Delmas re-signed with the Detroit Lions and I have to say, I'm only a little disappointed. As I said before, the 49ers don't strictly need two safeties, as they will most certainly draft a guy in one of the top rounds. Replacing Donte Whitner would be nice as well, and Delmas would have achieved that, but his injury concerns are far beyond that of any guy on the market. Anyway, I'm in a hurry so let's get to the links and remember: 49ers are staying the proper course. Enjoy,...

Niners Nation The San Francisco 49ers safety search marches on following Louis Delmas' decision to re-sign with the Detroit Lions. OL Chris Williams visits Carolina; safety Craig Dahl visits San Francisco — Howard Balzer (@HBalzer721) March 15, 2013 The 49ers spoke with Delmas, have had Charles Woodson in town, and were connected with Ed Reed, but nothing has happened yet. This reminds me a little bit of 2011 when the 49ers were connected with numerous cornerbacks before eventually working out a deal with Redskins free agent Carlos Rogers. I'm not saying this will work out the same way, but it s...
