Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas has been plagued with knee injuries the past two seasons, which could result in him being limited in practices this season.

Before safety Louis Delmas re-signed with the Detroit Lions, he took visits with the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers. It looked like the Lions were going to lose Delmas since he was taking visits, but he ended up deciding to stay with them in the end. At the league meetings in Arizona this week, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about Delmas, and he had some really positive things to say about their meeting. After the Detroit Lions re-signed safety Louis Delmas, it was a bit surprising to find out that his two-year deal is worth $9.465 million. That seems like a lot for a player who hasn't been able to consistently stay healthy, especially considering he's had so many knee problems. As it turns out, there's a catch. Another day, and another potential target for the San Francisco 49ers in free agency has signed elsewhere. Louis Delmas re-signed with the Detroit Lions and I have to say, I'm only a little disappointed. As I said before, the 49ers don't strictly need two safeties, as they will most certainly draft a guy in one of the top rounds.
