Thursday afternoon, the San Francisco 49ers announced they have re-signed safety Darcel McBath. Although McBath had been a restricted free agent entering the offseason, the 49ers did not tender him a contract. This allowed him to sign with any other team, much like what happened with wide receiver Marlon Moore. McBath received no sufficient offers, and will return on a one-year deal. The 49ers made an under-the-radar signing on Tuesday, agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with wide receiver Marlon Moore. The former Dolphins receiver was a restricted free agent, but the Dolphins elected not to tender him an offer (much like the 49ers did with Darcel McBath). Moore is 6', 190 pounds and originally signed with the Dolphins in 2010 as an undrafted free agent. In three seasons with the Dolphins, he appeared in 29 games (two starts), collecting 12 receptions for 244 yards and two touchdowns.
