Not An Inspiring Performance From Steelers Versus Panthers

It’s a good thing this is the pre-season and not much is expected from the starters. The Steelers backups, for the second week in a role, played uninspired football verses the Carolina Panthers.  Micheal Vick couldn’t get the offense flowing and Landry Jones was not much better. The only highlight was a blocked punt by Roosevelt Nix. A major concern in this game was how the defense was pushed around in the run game. 22 of these players will be cut from the team yet as a fan you hope the starters remain healthy during the regular season.  There was […] The post Not An Inspiring...

The tie between Taylor and Vick

As we covered in our special feature on Bills new starting QB Tyrod Taylor, the bond between players from the 757 is tight. So it was no surprise that two coastal Virginia quarterbacks, who are also Virginia Tech alums, became fast friends in Michael Vick and Tyrod Taylor. In fact Vick told Buffalobills.com that he […]

Steelers defense can’t contain Bills

The Pittsburgh Steelers headed into the third week of preseason knowing that the Buffalo Bills have been building a potent offense of their own. With a suspect defense, the Steelers struggled, losing by a score of 43-19. Quarterback Michael Vick had a decent showing in his Steelers debut. With help from Martavis Bryant, Vick was able to move the offense efficiently.  He still had enough zip in his legs to take off on one play down the sideline. The real story of the day was that the Steelers played nearly every man they had in their defensive arsenal against the […] The post Steelers...

Jaguars' T.J. Yeldon bottled up, but scores in preseason debut

Jaguars' T.J. Yeldon bottled up, but scores in preseason debut

Rookie T.J. Yeldon got a taste Friday night of how challenging life in the NFL can be. The former Alabama running back, drafted in the second round by the Jaguars, made his NFL debut against the Detroit Lions after missing the first two preseason games with a sprained pinkie finger. Yeldon ran hard and showed no ill effects from the injury, but he found little running room and finished with 10 yards in eight carries. Yeldon played most of the first drive, but his longest run was four yards. read more

Michael Vick (sort of) admits he had trouble being Geno Smith's backup with Jets

""I admit that I didn't do it as well as I wanted to, because in my mind the position I was in was supposed to be different," Vick said in Pittsburgh.

Michael Vick is now a Steeler, but where does he fit on the depth chart?

Like it or not, Michael Vick is currently a Pittsburgh Steeler. Is he an improvement over Landry Jones, or just another name on the depth chart? "Michael Vick is visiting the Steelers today." Okay, I thought, I'll bite. What's the punchline? Only, it wasn't a joke. It was the honest-to-goodness truth, and somewhere in the top-twenty list of my worst nightmares of all time. But not for the reasons everyone seems to be up in arms. See, I was one of the scattered few who didn't just accept that Vick had done his time and was back in the NFL. I embraced it. I welcomed his return. I'm the...

Vick owns up to past, looks forward to future with Steelers

With protesters across from the team facility, new Steelers QB Michael Vick addressed his controversial past and vowed to be a better teammate.

If you stop following the Steelers because of Michael Vick, you probably weren't much of a fan anyway

The Steelers signed Michael Vick on Tuesday to be their backup quarterback for the 2015 season. Since Vick's past includes some heinous crimes, many fans have voiced their displeasure and some have said they are done with the team. However, if all it takes is one player to ruin your love for a team, that love probably never existed in the first place. "I'm done with them!" It doesn't take much for people to exclaim such things today. Whether it be a controversial Tweet made by an athlete of a specific team; an arrest of a player from a specific team; or a loss to the Marlins on a Tuesday...
