The Cowboys rectified this by moving rookie Akwasi Owusu-Ansahfrom safety to corner. In college, Owusu-Ansah lined up in the slot and played corner. Cornerback Cletis Gordon gets cut

Dallas Cowboys Blog | ESPN Dallas — In a stunner, cornerback Cletis Gordon was told he was released today by the Cowboys. Gordon was one of the leading cornerbacks during training camp where had an unofficial count of ten interceptions. At one point during camp, secondary coach Dave Campo said Gordon was going to be the fourth cornerback. Gordon had just one pick during the preseason. "I'm shocked. He had a hell of a camp," Gordon's agent Rodney Edwards said. "I'm hoping some teams start calling here shortly." It's a surprise move considering how well he played in training camp and that it leaves the team with only three true corners in Terence Newman, Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick. Gordon had 10 interceptions in camp, but managed to pick off only one pass in the preseason. His undoing might have been his play in the 27-25 win over Miami in the preseason finale last week.
