Lions not interested in trading Mikel Leshoure

It appears that Mikel Leshoure isn't going anywhere -- at least not via a trade, anyway. After seeing his role on offense completely vanish last season, it looked like running back Mikel Leshoure didn't have much of a future with the Detroit Lions. Just a couple of weeks into last season, there were rumors about him being open to a trade, and at least one team reportedly expressed some level of interest in him. He's starting over with new head coach Jim Caldwell and offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi. Martin Mayhew said he believes there is a role for Leshoure, even though starter Reggie Bush and primary backup Joique Bell will be back.

He was the fourth tailback on a club that doesn't carry four tailbacks. He was active just three times, and had two carries for 9 yards. But Mayhew likes the stable of backs, and hopes Leshoure finds a way to crack the rotation.
