This Week in Defense: Seahawks at Panthers, Week 8

Narrative Of The Game This game came with a load a baggage, from on-the-field performances to off-the-field stories of locker room strife and rumor of discord in the wake of the Percy Harvin trade. Let's face it, the Seahawks organization dumped this to the media on a Friday before the St. Louis game, so the media spinning its wheels of intrigue should have come as no surprise for us. This week's game was about turning the ship around slowly but surely until its course lines up in all three phases once again. One week it's been the defense, one week it was the offense, last week it was...

NFL Trade Deadline: Rams Hold Candidates for Late Moves

The Rams employ a couple of players who might be in the mix as we near the trade deadline today. The NFL trade deadline is today at 4pm ET. We know that this is probably the weakest trade market in professional sports for various reasons, but occasionally (hi, Percy Harvin!) a big move comes along that shakes things up for the franchises involved. Here are three Rams who have been floated around in various articles this week: Zac Stacy Why this makes sense Stacy has slid from an unquestioned starter and workhorse role into a three-headed running back committee. At this point, he may have...

Will Seahawks do anything by Tuesday's trade deadline?

So the easy, and smart aleckey, answer to the above question is that they already have, having traded Percy Harvin two weeks ago to the New York Jets.

By popular demand: Seahawks rookies Paul Richardson, Kevin Norwood enjoy post-Harvin rise

Good morning, as I depart Charlotte for the trip back to Renton for coach Pete Carroll’s day-after press conference this afternoon. Part of the reason the Seahawks traded Percy Harvin to the New York Jets two weeks ago — besides the insubordination of refusing to come back into the loss to Dallas late in the game — was the team’s belief in rookie wide receivers Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood. Sunday, everyone got to see why Seattle drafted them this spring in the second and fourth rounds, respectively — and why many of you here have been … Read more »

From Super Bowl champ to this — how does Harvin like the Jets?

It only took one game for Percy Harvin to find out what it means to be a Jet. Less than nine months ago, Harvin was racing down the field at...

Percy Harvin's debut: Seven touches, no big plays, no coup

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Potential coup? Not exactly. The New York Jets made a concerted effort to feature Percy Harvin, but the speedy, all-purpose player made little impact in the 43-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Harvin started the game and played 42 snaps on offense, unofficially, touching the ball seven times for 50 yards. He ran four times for 28 yards and caught three passes for 22 yards. As expected, he was the primary kickoff returner, finishing with six returns for a 24.

Bills catch Jets laying down in the end zone

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Jets prepared to receive a kickoff in the third quarter of Sunday's 43-23 loss to the Buffalo Bills with Percy Harvin standing in the end zone. And T.J. Graham lying flat on his stomach. If the Jets coaching staff thought Graham’s green uniform would blend into the green end zone as seamlessly as hunting camouflage during duck hunting season, they were mistaken. The Bills were wise to the ruse and, when Harvin looked up to throw the ball to Graham, he found Graham being rushed by the kicking team.

Percy Harvin looks ahead after getting plenty of touches

Given the Jets quarterbacks' sad experience in the lost-and-found department yesterday -- six turnovers between them compared to the Bills' team total of zero -- Percy Harvin pretty much became last week's story.

Percy Harvin makes laughable kick return in Jets debut

Luckily for Percy Harvin, his teammates made enough stupid mistakes to overshadow one of his own in his first game with the New York Jets on Sunday. Wearing green and white for the first time since the Seattle Seahawks shocked the football world by trading him Oct. 17, Harvin caught three passes for 22 yards […]

Jets try some trickery - Fails exactly as you would expect

Just because it's fun. Why are we taking a minute to look at a New York Jets play? Because it is exactly the glorious failure you would expect. The Jets have Percy Harvin back to return a kick. You know, the dynamic, people kick away from him kick returning Percy Harvin? So, they decide, this would be the perfect time to fake everyone out and run a trick play. Harvin catches the ball at the very back of the endzone. Since they have the perfect trick play designed, Harvin runs out to the two yard line where he then stopped and looked for the player NO ONE POSSIBLY NOTICED, T.J. Graham. You...
