Seattle Seahawks WRs Percy Harvin ...

News, notes and quotes: Day two of training camp

Day two in the sun. Percy Harvin did not practice today. It completely appeared as just a day of rest. Harvin was on the field all day, jogged from place to place and did some other running. It’s no surprise to see the Seahawks managing Harvin’s workload on July 26. If you recall, Pete Carroll said in minicamp that they were not going to work Harvin three consecutive days then. That timeframe does not necessarily apply to training camp. Certainly looked like just a day off. Rookie wide receiver Kevin Norwood and right tackle Michael Bowie were held out today. … Read more »

News and notes from Saturday practice

The second training camp practice of the season is over for the Seahawks. Here are some news and notes. ... --- First off, we didn't get coach Pete Carroll today. So no real specific personnel updates other than what we saw. --- Just to reiterate, Marshawn Lynch was again not there, and as noted earlier, not on the roster at the moment as he's on the reserve/did not report list. But several players talked about hoping he'll be back soon. We'll see. As of now, no new concrete news on that front. --- As for what we saw, WR Percy Harvin did not practice today, though he did take part in some...

Harvin: ‘This is the best I’ve felt in a long, long time’

Here’s what Percy Harvin had to say today: (On if he’s feeling like he’s back to the old version of himself) Oh man, it’s immensely good. The trainers today were saying last year this time I was in there consulting with a whole bunch of doctors looking through the mirror and hearing all the music and seeing all of the fans and wanting to be out here so bad. So this year, being able to get my foundation back and go through the whole off season with no problems, OTA’s, minicamp, and then to this camp. As long … Read more »

Percy Harvin feeling good on first day of training camp

A year ago, Percy Harvin had to sit and watch on the first day of training camp, the Seahawks making a move that caught many off guard by putting him on the Physically Unable to Perform List.

Impressions from practice from Jenks, Condotta

Here we go with what we will make a regular feature on the blog throughout training camp --- three impressions from beat writers Jayson Jenks and Bob Condotta. First, Jenks: 1, The same guys who fielded punts during mini camp in June were in the mix on the first day of training camp: WR Percy Harvin, WR Doug Baldwin, S Earl Thomas, CB Richard Sherman, WR Bryan Walters, CB Phillip Adams and CB A.J. Jefferson. And, no, there’s still no clear favorite to win the job. 2, Offensive lineman James Carpenter looks in even better shape than he did last during mini camp in June. Coach Pete Carroll...

Seahawks training camp listens: Pete Carroll, John Schneider, Percy Harvin, Earl Thomas, and Cliff Avril

I just got back from training camp so I'll get going soon on a little write-up from what I observed, but in the meantime, give these a listen. Less than a week

Surely you remember the big revelation on the first day of Seahawks training camp last year. New threat Percy Harvin had a hip injury that might need surgery. Wait, you mean that the guy who cost three draft picks and $26 million guaranteed is broken? It was giant news at the time. As it was when it turned out his surgery would endanger his entire season. In the end, the team excelled in his absence. By this time next week, we’ll know a lot more about  the 2014 Seahawks, as Friday’s first practice of training camp will be our first … Read more »

Reloaded: So now you have Percy Harvin, what do you do?

DK Note: With Arif's excellent breakdown on Seahawks free agent signee Kevin Williams from yesterday, it reminded me that he put together a similarly detailed and in-depth breakdown on the acquisition of Percy Harvin last March. This post is obviously a little outdated at this point, but since we saw so very little of Harvin last season -- he played exactly 19 snaps all year -- it's still applicable in that we may still have little idea what to expect from the explosive playmaker. Here's Arif, on Harvin, which was originally published on March 18th, 2013. --------- Hello, Field Gulls! My...

Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice featured in this year’s Seahawks-themed corn maze

First it was “Beast Mode,” then the “Legion of Boom.” Now, it’s “Harvin and Rice.” Ok, Seahawks receivers Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice may not have catchy nicknames but you don’t need nicknames when your face is carved out of thousands of cornstalks, writ large over the landscape. Harvin and Rice grace this year’s rendition […]

NFL Notebook: Philosophies for all 32 NFL teams in 2014

NFL Notebook: Philosophies for all 32 NFL teams in 2014

In a sentence or two, let's decide what each team's "philosophy" would be for the 2014 season... AFC EAST Buffalo Bills - "Run The Rock, Stop The Rock. Move Sammy Around. The More Plays, The Better." The Bills called the most run plays in the NFL last year, and although it's fair to expect some improvement from quarterback EJ Manuel, with running backs C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson, Bryce Brown, and Anthony Dixon and Cyrus Kouandjio at right tackle, Buffalo will run it frequently this season. Sammy Watkins is a larger Percy Harvin, and offensive coordinator Nate Hackett is cut from the Chip...

Seahawks’ Percy Harvin ‘wasn’t settled’ despite Super Bowl victory

Seattle fans won’t soon forget wide receiver Percy Harvin’s 87-yard kickoff return that opened the  second half of Super Bowl XLVIII and extended the Seahawks’ lead to 29-0 en route to the team’s first Super Bowl victory in February. But though Harvin fulfilled a lifelong dream with the victory on the biggest stage, he wasn’t […]
