Rashad Jennings (knee) is not practicing Thursday.

Examining the dropoff from Rashad Jennings to Andre Williams

When New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings sprained his knee in Week 5, the presumption was that rookie running back Andre Williams would ascend to the starting role and handle it. There were questions about Williams' abilities as a pass blocker and especially as a pass receiver, but in terms of actually running the ball, it was believed he would do fine filling in for Jennings for at least a couple of weeks. He has not been fine. Williams has rushed for a total of 110 yards on 35 carries in the two games since Jennings got hurt.

Recovering from MCL sprain Rashad Jennings sprained the MCL in his left knee two weeks ago. He's eyeing a return when the Giants take the field next on November 3 against the Colts. "As the doctors said, they think I'm right on track to be back here soon and it's going to be a day to day [situation]," Jennings said. Jennings did not commit to anything. Next on the schedule is to hit the field during the bye week and begin running and cutting on the knee. He has not yet done anyone running outside the water. Giants Injury Report: Rashad Jennings Out Sunday

Rashad Jennings will miss his second straight game as he returns from his knee injury. Unsurprisingly, the New York Giants are already listing starting running back Rashad Jennings as out for Sunday's bout against the Dallas Cowboys. It was suspected when it was announced that he had sprained his MCL against the Atlanta Falcons that Jennings would be out through the Giants' week 8 bye. Expected or not, this does come as a blow to a team that could use their veteran bell-cow running back to help stabilize a shaky offense. Also on the injury front, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie did...

Is there Giant dropoff to Andre Williams?

Giants Injury Report: Rashad Jennings, Spencer Paysinger not practicing

Giants early injury report for Wednesday. Running back Rashad Jennings (MCL sprain) and linebacker Spencer Paysinger (hamstring) will be the only New York Giants who will not practice today, head coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday morning. Jennings, of course, is not expected to play this week. Jennings said Monday that "History has shown that I always heal up quicker than expected." The Giants don't, however, expect him to heal quickly enough to play against the Eagles. Paysinger injured his hamstring Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. His primary value to the Giants is as one of the...

UPDATE: Giants RB Rashad Jennings diagnosed with sprained MCL

Updating a post from earlier today, Giants running back Rashad Jennings has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Head coach Tom Coughlin wouldn't put a time frame on how long Jennings will be sidelined and said Monday that he will consider Jennings' status from day to day until told otherwise. FANTASY ANALYSIS: However, fantasy owners should not consider Jennings as day-to-day. He is dealing with the same injury that will have Ryan Mathews out of action for four to five weeks, although we don't know if Jennings' sprain is as severe. At the least, it's very doubtful he will...
