Long-Time Falcons Who Are On The Cutting Block

The Falcoholic — The Falcons haven't always drafted well, and not every signing has been a brilliant one. In some instances, the team realizes that fairly early and cuts ties, a la Ray Edwards. Sometimes it takes a little longer. With all the additions to the roster this off-season, however, it's fair to wonder if a few familiar Falcons will be moving on in the next couple of months. When teams can get younger and cheaper while getting just about the same value, they tend to do so, and that could spell doom for more than a couple of players. Here's my list of possibilities: RB Jason Snelling Big Snell ...

Malliciah Goodman Has The Hands Of A Champion

The Falcoholic — Acknowledging your issues is no guarantee you'll solve them. It's worth putting that caveat out front, because I come to praise Malliciah Goodman. Goodman is a crucial draft pick for the Falcons, a natural power left end with excellent athleticism, long arms and enormous hands that have drawn an unsettling amount of praise from many grown men. If everything breaks right, he could be what Ray Edwards was supposed to be, as a pass-rusher with a solid presence against the run. What Goodman needed to work on was his play-to-play effort, his timing and his burst after the snap. Most of thos...

2013 NFL Draft: Rookies Select Jersey Numbers

The Falcoholic — Better late than never, right? Per the official site, we have the list of jersey numbers selected by each drafted rookie. Some of you will no doubt find the choices interesting, particularly since Malliciah Goodman is gamely going to try to redeem the #93 after Ray Edwards had it for the last two seasons. Ray Edwards Knocks Out Opponent Without Actually, You Know, Hitting Him

Daily Norseman — Rayd Edwards was a guy that brought a lot of debate here on DN a couple years ago. He was an up and coming defensive end that a lot of people thought the Vikings should try to push hard to re-sign. Other folks thought he was starting to become a malcontent, and that the Vikings should let him walk. He eventually signed a pretty good free agent deal with the Atlanta Falcons...and pretty much fell off the face of the earth. Edwards was woefully ineffective, and was released in November for becoming the jackass that a lot of Edwards detractors thought he would be once he got his payday...
