Offseason Decision Looms for Colts Wide Receiver Reggie Wayne: Retire or Return?

Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne faces a tough decision to make this offseason: whether to retire or return to the Colts. The 2014-15 season ended on Sunday night for the Indianapolis Colts, as the team fell 45-7 in the AFC Championship game.  Just like that, an offseason that will bring with it many questions began for the Colts, earlier than they had hoped, but it began nonetheless.  One of the biggest questions in the minds of Colts fans will be the decision that star wide receiver Reggie Wayne has to make: retire or return for a 15th season. After each year, Wayne loads up his car and...

Reggie Wayne Focused on the Present, Not the Past

For Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne, it's not about the past but the present. And for the Colts, the present is Andrew Luck, not Peyton Manning. As such, Reggie wouldn't really get into the storyline of Peyton Manning facing his former team in the playoffs. Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne knows a thing or two about playing with Peyton Manning.  From the year Wayne entered the league as a first round draft pick in 2001 through Manning's final season under center for the Colts (in 2010), Wayne developed a chemistry on and off the field with Manning.  With the Colts getting ready to face...

WR Reggie Wayne says he will play next season if Colts want him back

Reggie Wayne is 36 years old. And if he can keep that horseshoe on the side of his helmet, he'd like to play through his age-37 season. As Wayne prepares for what may be his final home game, he said on his weekly radio show Tuesday that he will play in 2015 "If the Colts want me. Because I'm not playing for nobody else." Wayne is scheduled to become a free agent after the season. He has struggled through his 14th year with a torn triceps that needs surgery as well as knee and elbow injuries. He has 64 catches for 779 yards in 15 games. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Perhaps Wayne's statements can be...

Colts TE Dwayne Allen, WR Reggie Wayne practice Wednesday

It looks like the Colts' pass attack will have everyone up for Sunday's playoff game versus Cincinnati. Tight end Dwayne Allen practiced Wednesday after missing Week 17 due to a knee injury. He was joined on the practice field by wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who suffered a minor groin injury during that win over the Titans. FANTASY ANALYSIS: Barring any setbacks, both will be active against the Bengals. The groin injury is a new one for Wayne, who has just been beat up this season. He has a torn triceps that will require offseason surgery. He's also been bothered by knee and elbow pains, and...

Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne just concluded his 14th regular season with the franchise, and that has caused many (including Wayne himself) to wonder what the future holds for the 36-year old.  Will this year be his final season?  Will this Sunday be his final home game?  Or will he decide to come back for another season? Injury Update on Hugh Thornton, Reggie Wayne, A.Q. Shipley, and Others

Here's an injury update on Hugh Thornton, A.Q. Shipley, and Reggie Wayne - all of whom were injured in Sunday's win. In the Colts' win 27-10 win on Sunday over the Tennessee Titans, the main hope was to stay injury free.  The Colts did that for the most part, although in the win three players did leave with injuries: offensive linemen A.Q. Shipley and Hugh Thornton and wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Wayne injured his groin after an 80-yard reception - the longest reception by a receiver 36-years old or older in NFL history - on which he fell just one yard short of the end zone.  He didn't...

Reggie Wayne: "I'll be Ready Next Week"

Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne injured his groin in the win today over the Titans, but according to Colts.com's Kevin Bowen, Wayne said after the game that, "I'll be ready next week" for the playoffs. In the second quarter of this afternoon's win over the Titans, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck threw the ball to wide receiver Reggie Wayne.  The veteran receiver made a great catch and was off to the races, going 80-yards and being tackled at the one yard line.  The 80-yard play was a career-long pass for the third-year quarterback (Luck) and a career-long reception for the fourteen-year...
