Former 49ers player Jonathan Martin says he attempted suicide ‘multiple times’ during career

Jonathan Martin holds the pregame flag with the Boy Scouts on September 14, 2014. (Carlos Avila Gonzalez/The Chronicle) Former 49ers tackle Jonathan Martin took to Facebook on Wednesday to share his experiences fighting depression much of his life. Martin, who retired from the NFL earlier this year, admitted that he had attempted suicide “multiple times” during his NFL career. Martin, unfortunately, is best known for being the bullying victim of Richie Incognito, then of the Miami Dolphins. Incognito allegedly called Martin racial slurs and threatened him and his family with violence....

Rex: Incognito better than anticipated

Bills starting LG Richie Incognito came to the team as a free agent signing and after an 18-month layoff will be playing regular season football. Bills head coach Rex Ryan had faith in Incognito’s abilities, but even he admitted that the veteran guard has surpassed his expectations. “I think Richie has kind of exceeded my […]

IK Enemkpali Claimed Off Waivers by Bills

Wow. Just wow. Rex Ryan claimed that he wanted to "build a bully" in Buffalo this year. He proceeded to sign Richie Incognito, the NFL's poster boy for bullying. Now Rex has gone and claimed his former player just one day after he broke his former starting quarterback's jaw with what has been described as a "sucker punch." It's amazing that IK, a former 6th round pick and backup linebacker, could actually be claimed off of waivers within a news cycle of breaking his quarterback's jaw. Many suspected he would never get another NFL opportunity, but he didn't even clear waivers. Ignoring the...

Hyde5: Incognito rips Ted Wells for, yep, bullying - and he's right

Richie Incognito always was an easy target for Ted Wells' investigation as a meathead lineman who used the n-word in drunken tweets. No one pretends he didn't over-step some real boundaries. But he's right when he says Wells, "came in with a mission against me" - a thought that carries implications...

Rex Ryan names Richie Incognito a starting Buffalo Bills guard

Incognito had been expected to start all along, but Ryan gave him a huge vote of confidence on Sunday - and also named two more starters in clarifying the offensive line picture across the board. Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan didn't mince words on Sunday when discussing his offensive line following the third training camp practice of the year: he's liking what he's seeing across the board, and he's comfortable enough with three veterans to name them starters. Cordy Glenn, Richie Incognito, and Eric Wood were all expected to start at left tackle, left guard, and center, respectively,...

Rex: Left side of OL is set

It’s only day three of training camp, but barring a 180 in performance everyone from the center to the left tackle on the starting offensive line is pretty much locked into their roles for Buffalo’s offense. That according to head coach Rex Ryan, who confirmed that in his mind Cordy Glenn, Richie Incognito and Eric […]
