Arizona Cardinals training camp:10 observations from Sunday practice

Arizona Cardinals training camp:10 observations from Sunday practice

Just a quick write-up on what I saw. Sunday's practice is in the books. There was a decent crowd. It did not appear to be as large as the more than 10 thousand that reportedly attended Saturday's practice and it was not as lively. What were things that stood out? 1. There were a pair of injuries. Tight end Jake Ballard sat out with a thigh bruise and Dan Williams was out, at least for part of practice with a sore knee. I thought I saw him at the start, but he definitely was out later. Christian Tupou stood in at nose tackle on the first team, as Alameda Ta'amu is still out. Rob Housler...

Summer Daydreaming: Could the Packers Trade For TE Rob Housler?

Summer Daydreaming: Could the Packers Trade For TE Rob Housler?

Arizona's athletic pass-catcher apparently doesn't fit in with Bruce Arians' offensive scheme. Perhaps a move to Green Bay is in the cards (no pun intended)? The lazy months of June, July and August provide an excellent opportunity to imagine possibilities, to hope, to believe. In this recurring series, I offer you some potential scenarios for the Packers. Will they happen? I have no idea. But they're feasible and worth thinking about. Rob Housler sliding down the depth chart

Not the best fit for Arians offense I'd say it's likely the Cardinals will carry four tight ends on the 53-man roster, but will the fourth be Robert Housler? That all depends on how he plays during training camp. I think he's sitting at No. 4 right now behind John Carlson, Jake Ballard and rookie Troy Niklas. (ESPN) FF Today's Take: Housler isn't exactly a good fit for Bruce Arians' scheme. The tight end isn't a high-catch, high yardage position in this offense. Housler led all Cardinal tight ends last season with 39 receptions and 454 yards. For now, Carlson would be...

Can Rob Housler turn things around?

Can Rob Housler turn things around?

The Arizona tight end has consistently disappointed. Arizona Cardinals fans know all about Rob Housler and expectations. Since he was drafted, the buzz has been about how good he was going to be. Unfortunately, that huge expected impact has not happened. SB Nation is running a series on last season's notable underachievers and James Brady focused on Housler and whether he could turn things around in 2014. Brady aptly describes Housler as "a pass-catching specialist, using a solid combination of size and speed to burn unsuspecting opponents," a player not known for much of a...
