Packers vs. Cardinals inactives: Bakhtiari and Shields return for Divisional Round tilt

Green Bay has its entire starting offensive line for the first time in over a month. Following a three-game absence, left tackle David Bakhtiari finally returns to the field, making the Green Bay Packers' entire starting offensive line available for the first time since Dec. 3. On the other side of the ball, top cornerback Sam Shields rejoins the Green Bay secondary after missing four weeks with a concussion. The last time the Packers faced the Arizona Cardinals, the line allowed nine sacks, eight with Aaron Rodgers under center. However, the Bakhtiari's ankle injury kept him out of that...

Packers Injury Report: Shields not through concussion protocol, Rollins returns to practice

One cornerback was working again today, while the other practiced but still has not been given full clearance yet. The Green Bay Packers continue to get healthier little by little each day this week as they prepare for the Arizona Cardinals. During Thursday's practice, Mike McCarthy's squad got one player back who had missed practice on Wednesday - rookie cornerback Quinten Rollins - and reportedly got a good performance in practice from fellow corner Sam Shields. Unfortunately, when the team was made available in the locker room to reporters after practice, Shields was not there. As the...

Cheese Curds, 1/14: All eyes remain on Packers' Bakhtiari and Shields

We look at what the Packers' two injured starters would bring to the table on Saturday if they're finally able to suit up. As always seems to be the case, the Green Bay Packers and their fans are approaching the team's next game with a close eye on a few critical injured players. While David Bakhtiari and Sam Shields have been out, their units have alternately struggled and found success, but there is no question that the continuity and skill level of both units is better off with them on the field. As we look ahead to Saturday night, we will once again be scouring the injury report and...

Packers injury report: Only 2 players miss practice

The Packers appear to be regaining their health. Many months have passed since the Green Bay Packers last had a semi-healthy roster. Though the injury report issues Wednesday still includes a long list of names, the participation designations suggest that the team may have finally turned the corner in that department. The big news came earlier in the day when multiple reports stated that starting left tackle David Bakhtiari and top cornerback Sam Shields did some work during the portion of practice open to the media. The team listed both as limited on the official report, the strongest sign...

Sam Shields and David Bakhtiari return to practice

The Packers have reason to believe Sam Shields and David Bakhtiari could play this weekend. For the Green Bay Packers to have their best chance at upsetting the heavily favored Arizona Cardinals this Saturday, they likely need both left tackle David Bakhtiari and top cornerback Sam Shields back on the field. It remains too early to say definitely whether either can suit up, but both made appearances at Wednesday's practice. Head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters that he expected Shields and Bakhtiari to get some work in despite missing multiple weeks with a concussion and ankle injury...
