Why a Tennessee Titans deal with Santonio Holmes still makes sense to me

The Titans could use Santonio Holmes. There are a few reasons that the Tennessee Titans should make a play after Santonio Holmes not the least of which is that if they don't the Indianapolis Colts or Houston Texans might. Holmes is a very good vertical receiver who totaled over 2,000 yards in his four years in New York all of which he was catching passes from Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith. While the 2014 NFL offseason remains in its infant stage, there is still a place to examine and critique the New York Jets moves, thus far, especially under second-year GM John Idzik.  The most notable signing being WR Eric Decker, who received a five-year, $36.25 million deal ($15 mil guaranteed). The contract is very reasonable, given Deckers production with the Denver Broncos—averaging just under 1,000 yards in his past three years of work. Compare that to Santonio Holmes who received a five-year, $45 million deal back in 2010. Holmes averaged just 618 yards in three years...
