Wide receiver, not cornerback, should be the Ravens top offseason priority

Wide receiver, not cornerback, should be the Ravens top offseason priority

It’s fair to say the a lack of depth at cornerback may have cost the Ravens the Week 16 game against the Steelers, and thus the playoffs. Over the past few seasons, health in the secondary has been a major issue for the Ravens. The Ravens found a gem at the position with fourth round pick Tavon Young, but aside from Young and top corner Jimmy Smith, the Ravens don’t have many options. Shareece Wright can be a coverage liability, and Jerraud Powers was not great this season. However, despite all of the above, cornerback is not the biggest issue the Ravens front office will face this...

Steve Biscotti - “The pitchforks are out”

In the Baltimore Ravens big press conference, a reporter asked Baltimore Ravens Owner Steve Biscotti what is his opinion about what had transpired this season? Biscotti did not disappoint in his answer. Biscotti answered the question by saying the “the pitchforks are out”. I love that answer. Biscotti preceded to say that many players over and under performed this season. A couple of names he mentioned were Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright. He stated that Shareece Wright had been graded better than Jimmy Smith in the last six weeks of the season. After getting a slight praise from...

Jimmy Smith (ankle) sitting for Ravens' matchup with Pittsburgh

Baltimore Ravens defensive back Jimmy Smith (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. What It Means: Smith is out with a severe high ankle sprain. Antonio Brown should be able to feast on Sunday afternoon against starting corners Shareece Wright and rookie Tavon Young. Baltimore ranks 22nd in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points allowed per play. Brown is numberFire's second-ranked wide receiver for Week 16, and we project him for 90 yards and 0.61 touchdowns on 8 grabs. Source: Rotoworld.com

Ravens cornerback Shareece Wright knows what's expected when filling in for Jimmy Smith

There is hardly anything Ravens cornerback Shareece Wright will not do for best friend and teammate Jimmy Smith. Right now, that entails Wright replacing Smith in the defensive lineup, and it's an assignment Wright fully understands.
