Vikings-Dolphins injury reports: Mike Remmers expects to play despite questionable tag

The Vikings listed three players — right guard Mike Remmers (low back), defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (hip) and tight end David Morgan (knee) — as questionable to play Sunday against the Dolphins. But at least one, Remmers, has no doubt he’s playing. “Me?” Remmers said Friday. “Of course.” All three players were limited in practices throughout the week. Richardson, who played 45 snaps (68 percent) on Monday night in Seattle, did not miss a practice this week and has not been sidelined for a game this season. It’s worth pointing to the Vikings having a shortened recovery...

Waynes, O'Neill upgraded to full practice participation

In a rarity for an NFL team in mid-December, every player on the Vikings’ active roster practiced today. Cornerback Trae Waynes (concussion) and right tackle Brian O’Neill (ankle) were upgraded from limited on Wednesday to full participation today. Receiver Chad Beebe (hamstring) was limited today after missing Wednesday’s practice. Also limited again today were Eric Kendricks (rib), David Morgan (knee), Mike Remmers (low back) and Sheldon Richardson (hip).

Once-reckless Sheldon Richardson on ‘straight and narrow’ with Vikings

Sheldon Richardson once was fined so much money, he said he was playing in the NFL “for free.” Richardson, a defensive tackle in his first year with the Vikings, broke into the league with the New York Jets, playing with them from 2013-16. After being named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2013 and […]

Seaside Chats: Arif Hasan is back and he’s talking Vikings, Kirk Cousins, and more

This week on the podcast, Arif Hasan comes back to the show to preview the Minnesota Vikings. You may remember Arif from Twitter or previous episodes of Real in the Field Gulls or 3000 NFL Mock Draft. He’s also been known to enter our comment sections and he may even do so today, though who knows and he’s not obligated to even if I do put him on the spot right now in this sentence. Besides, Arif goes into depth on the Vikings in the show, like on Kirk Cousins, John DeFilippo, Dalvin Cook, Sheldon Richardson, Tom Johnson, and more. The episode is available on Patreon for free thanks to...

For Vikings’ Sheldon Richardson, sacks are money in the bank

The three-technique defensive tackle signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Vikings in March to give opposing signal callers fits. Entering Sunday’s game against Green Bay, Richardson led the Vikings in quarterback hurries […]

You’ve probably never Thanksgiving’d as hard as Sheldon Richardson

Of course, even for him there are limits Noted latter-day American philosopher Harry Callahan once declared that a man has got to know his limitations. Apparently that’s the case even on Thanksgiving, as one member of the Minnesota Vikings once found out the hard way. Over at the mothership, our folks talked to four NFL defensive linemen about various Thanksgiving-related topics. One of those four was Vikings’ defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson. Richardson recounted one particular Thanksgiving from his college days where he overdid things just a little. “Family was over, everybody...

Vikings’ Sheldon Richardson: Week 2 penalty on Packers’ Clay Matthews was ‘trash call’

Pass rushers often stick together. In Week 2 at Lambeau Field, Green Bay looked to have wrapped up a win over the Vikings when Jaire Alexander intercepted a Kirk Cousins pass with the Packers leading 29-21 late in regulation. However, linebacker Clay Matthews got a controversial roughing-the-passer call on Cousins, and Minnesota came back to […]
