ESPN's Adam Schefter says the team found "no takers" for the underachieving wideout.

The Jets will waive wide receiver Stephen Hill this afternoon if they are unable to find a last-minute trade partner, The Post has learned. The 2012 second-round pick never developed...

A total of 26 players were claimed on waivers Sunday, and not one of them was named Stephen Hill -- a rather stunning downfall for the former New York Jets' starting wide receiver. It wasn't a money issue. Any team that picked up his contract would've been responsible for only $718,394, his 2014 base salary -- non-guaranteed. That Hill cleared waivers is somewhat surprising. The NFL is all about size and speed, and Hill is a size-speed player, sans the production.

Disappointing third-year wide receiver Stephen Hill was waived today by the Jets, less than two days after he told reporters he expected to make the team. Hill is one of eight cuts announced thus far by the Jets, who must get down to 53 players by 4 p.m. today. They need to make moves with 14 other players to reach that limit. Also waived was tight end Chris Pantale, a former Wayne Valley and Boston College star. He had three receptions for 74 yards in the loss to Philadelphia on Thursday night and certainly is a candidate to be brought back and re-signed to the practice squad. Hill, whom...

The Panthers will enter the season with their current stable of receivers, for now. Former New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill and rookie free agent Kadron Boone were in Charlotte for workouts on Monday, but both players are headed home without deals. Head coach Ron Rivera spoke to the media Monday saying that the team has not extended offers to the receivers at this time, but stopped short of ruling out the possibility in the future. This means the Panthers will enter their Week 1 matchup against the Buccaneers with their current stable of receivers. Hill and Boone would have brought...

The Panthers could be getting more speed on offense. Former second round draft pick WR Stephen Hill is in Charlotte on Monday, working out for the Carolina Panthers as the team looks to add more weapons for Cam Newton before their Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hill was a former second round pick of the New York Jets and failed to make an impact over his two years with the team. He's an incredibly raw receiver who didn't grow much over his time in the NFL, but could develop under the tutelage of Ricky Proehl and have a similar impact to that of Ted Ginn Jr., another...

The Panthers have no immediate plans to sign free agent Stephen Hill following Monday's workout.
