Stevie Johnson trade officially final as NFL provides latest draft order

The NFL released the latest official draft order, and it appears to finalize the Stevie Johnson trade from last year. A year ago, the San Francisco 49ers made a trade on day two the 2014 NFL Draft, acquiring wide receiver Stevie Johnson from the Buffalo Bills. They sent over a fourth round pick, that could improve to a third based on Johnson meeting certain conditions. There was never any word on what kind of performance incentives that entailed, but today it would appear they were not met. The NFL emailed out a full revised draft order Wednesday afternoon, reflecting an adjustment to some...

Is Stevie Johnson an upgrade over Eddie Royal?

The San Diego Chargers have a shiny new toy after signing former 49ers WR Stevie Johnson, but how will he be able to fill the hole in the offense left by Eddie Royal's departure? Newly signed Stevie Johnson is coming off of a career low year in receptions since becoming a full time starter in the NFL and missed the final 3 games of the season due to injury. A former star with the Buffalo Bills, Stevie Johnson can be a huge addition for the San Diego Chargers, but the signing won't mean much if he's not healthy. If he is healthy, the soon-to-be 29 year old is a tremendous addition to a wide...

Stevie Johnson to sign with San Diego Chargers, according to report

The San Diego Chargers are expected to sign wide receiver Stevie Johnson. They were also reportedly interested in Michael Crabtree. Could this decision impact Crabtree? Former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Stevie Johnson is expected to sign a three-year deal with the San Diego Chargers, according to Dianna Russini. The 49ers released Johnson last week, and thus he will not count for the comp pick formula Johnson visited the Chargers and New England Patriots the last few days. San Diego Chargers Sign WR Stevie Johnson to 3-Year Deal

A week into free agency, the San Diego Chargers have finally landed a receiver to help replace the production of Eddie Royal. The Chargers finally land a wide receiver in free agency. After failed attempts to sign Andre Johnson and re-sign Eddie Royal, Stevie Johnson visited the Chargers on Friday. He also visited the Patriots, but ultimately chose to catch passes from Philip Rivers instead of Tom Brady. Johnson, who will turn 29 in July, came in to the league in 2008 with the Bills as a 7th round pick. His most productive seasons were 2010 and 2012, topping 1,000 receiving yards each...

Chargers nab WR Stevie Johnson

The ex-49er and Bill fills a gaping need for another veteran wide receiver.

Stevie Johnson and the Patriots' offense

Free-agent wide receiver Stevie Johnson is reportedly visiting the New England Patriots Monday, and that has us going through his career numbers against them. From 2010-2013, Johnson hurt the Patriots. Over seven games against them, he totaled 31 receptions for 406 yards, with four touchdowns and 24 first downs. His 13.09 average yards per reception in those games highlights one of his top assets -- a vertical presence. For a comparison, let's look at the Patriots' top three receivers from 2014 in that average-yards-per-catch category: Julian Edelman -- 10.

It sounds like Stevie Johnson is drawing interest in free agency. Odds seem pretty good he will not be returning to the 49ers. Johnson visited with the San Diego Chargers on Friday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. He also will be targeted by the New England Patriots, according to Dianna Russini. I have heard something similar regarding the Patriots, and I would imagine a visit will happen...

49ers free agents 2015: Stevie Johnson could have interest from Browns, while 49ers remain on radar

The San Francisco 49ers time with Stevie Johnson may not be at an end quite yet. He is checking his options, but the 49ers could remain in the picture. The San Francisco 49ers announced Stevie Johnson's release Thursday afternoon, and he appears to already have interest. Jason LaCanfora is reporting that the Cleveland Browns "will be exploring" Stevie Johnson in hopes of adding another wide receiver. LaCanfora also said the team is exploring Dwayne Bowe. That is certainly a random choice of descriptor by LaCanfora. Aside from sounding just a little off, it does not really provide much in...

Trent Baalke denies Greg Hardy rumors, Stevie Johnson release, potential Ahmad Brooks release

The San Francisco 49ers general manager denied pretty much everything he could on Wednesday. Not surprising, but amusing nonetheless. San Francisco 49ers general manager spoke with the media after Torrey Smith's press conference this afternoon, and he was in fine denial form. There have been numerous reports about a variety of topics and he denied everything: 1. The 49ers have released Stevie Johnson: Baalke said no they have no, although reports indicate they have, and Stevie posted on Twitter, "Thank you #SF". I suppose he could be thanking them for a new deal, but I am a little bit...
