Seahawks Roster Cuts 2014: Predicting Seattle's cuts to get to 75

Seahawks Roster Cuts 2014: Predicting Seattle's cuts to get to 75

The Seahawks reportedly released CB Terrell Thomas and SAM/LEO Jackson Jeffcoat yesterday, brining their roster number down to 88. They will need to get down to 75 by tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1 PM PT by releasing (or sending to Injured Reserve) another 13 players. They may do so today, so this post won't be worthwhile for too long. Let's take a quick look at the roster and try and guess who those cuts may be. QB: QB1 Russell Wilson 5'10, 215QB2 Tarvaris Jackson 6'2, 215 QB3 Terrelle Pryor 6'4, 233QB4 B.J. Daniels 5'11,217 I think for now the Seahawks will stick with their four quarterbacks,...

Seahawks' five biggest roster decisions revisited

A week ago today, I wrote about what I thought were the Seahawks' five biggest questions involving the roster. With one more game in the books, and that much closer to the deadline to set the final roster, I thought I'd quickly revisit those five questions: 1, Does Terrelle Pryor make it? As I wrote a week ago, I don't think there's any doubt that Tarvaris Jackson is the backup. The question is if Pryor also makes it. I'm not sure we are any closer to an answer after Friday's game, when Pryor went 0-2 with an interception. For all that he's done in the preseason, the stats indicate he remains...
Seahawks have backup-quarterback issue to settle in this short week before Thursday’s final exhibition at Oakland

Seahawks have backup-quarterback issue to settle in this short week before Thursday’s final exhibition at Oakland

The Seahawks get a second consecutive day off from practicing today. They will be back on the field at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on Monday. There are three days of workouts in Renton this week before the team flies to Oakland for the fourth and final exhibition game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell Wilson doesn’t play a down on Thursday, so that coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell can split the entire game between Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor. The Raiders came will a final determinant on who should be the primary backup quarterback, and on...

Who to Watch in Vikings Preseason Game #3

Tonight, the Vikings will take on the Chiefs in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. There are numerous position battles that could be won or lost, and roster spots could be claimed or slip away. The third preseason game is the most important, because on Tuesday, all teams have to cut their roster to 75 players. […]

Seahawks Daily Top 10: Jackson ready for the challenge, and more

A reminder that this is the week that things start to change a bit for the Seahawks, and all  NFL teams, with training camp officially ending. The Seahawks are off today, and will hold one last public practice on Tuesday and then will officially break camp after Wednesday's practice. After the game against the Bears Friday, preseason will be half over, the regular season looming ever closer. 1, The Bears game will be another where the play of the backup quarterbacks will get a lot of focus. Tarvaris Jackson would seem to be ahead in that battle. But as I wrote for our story for today's...

Seahawk quarterback Tarvaris Jackson ready for another challenge

Jackson, in his ninth NFL season, takes the addition of free-agent signee Terrelle Pryor as just another threat in a career filled with challenges.

For Vikings, success hinges on improved offensive line play

For their quarterbacks to fare well, the Vikings know they must get better play up front.
