Tarvaris Jackson contract details

Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will get a $1.25 million base salary in 2015, and it's fully guaranteed. He also received a $250,000 signing bonus to remain with Seattle as Russell Wilson's primary backup. The quick math there: Jackson's deal is worth $1.5 million. T-Jack's salary was $1.25M last year, and his contract had up to $750,000 in playing time incentives. This time around, he eschewed the "not likely to be earned" playing time incentives for a more straight forward signing bonus clause -- he gets $250,000 up front. As Tom Pelissaro pointed out this morning, with his latest...

League source confirms QB Tarvaris Jackson is expected to re-sign with Seahawks

I can confirm from a league source with knowledge of the situation that the report by Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports of Tarvaris Jackson re-signing with the Seahawks is accurate; the veteran backup to Russell Wilson is expected to sign with Seattle in the next day or so. This coming season will be Jackson’s fourth in Seattle, the third as Wilson’s backup. Jackson went 7-7 as the Seahawks’ starter in 2011, months before the team drafted Wilson and made him a starter from game one of his rookie season. Jackson, who turned 32 in April, visited Miami and waited for … Read more »

Report: Tarvaris Jackson re-signs with Seahawks for another year

Unsurprisingly, Jackson is coming back to Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, as expected, according to Mike Garafolo. Jackson has spent three months on the free agent market without much attention, save for a visit to Miami that ultimately ended with the Dolphins signing Josh Freeman instead. Now Jackson looks primed to spend his fourth season in Seattle, knowing that he won't get a chance to start unless something terribly, horribly wrong happens. Jackson went 7-7 as the starter in 2011, but showed promise over the second half of the year. It wasn't...
