Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell on sharing the wealth, the pop pass, and more

We got our first chance to talk to offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell today since Seattle's 36-16 win over Green Bay last Thursday.

If Mike Zimmer can do what Brad Childress could not, the Vikings will finish the year with a winning record.

Seahawks roster cuts: Tracking Seattle's roster cutdowns

The Seahawks have until 1:00 PM PST today to finalize their 53-man roster I'll be tracking their remaining 20 cuts in this post this morning. So far, we've seen reports that QB Terrelle Pryor and FB Kiero Small have been released, which brought their roster to 73 players. Here's my 53 man roster prediction from yesterday. I'm 2-for-2 so far, but I'm sure it will be wrong in several areas. Just use this a little guide to depth chart battles. -------------- Quarterbacks (2) Keep: QB1 Russell Wilson 5'10, 215QB2 Tarvaris Jackson 6'2, 215 Practice Squad: QB4 B.J. Daniels 5'11,...

Seahawks Roster Cuts 2014: Predicting Seattle's cuts to get to 75

The Seahawks reportedly released CB Terrell Thomas and SAM/LEO Jackson Jeffcoat yesterday, brining their roster number down to 88. They will need to get down to 75 by tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1 PM PT by releasing (or sending to Injured Reserve) another 13 players. They may do so today, so this post won't be worthwhile for too long. Let's take a quick look at the roster and try and guess who those cuts may be. QB: QB1 Russell Wilson 5'10, 215QB2 Tarvaris Jackson 6'2, 215 QB3 Terrelle Pryor 6'4, 233QB4 B.J. Daniels 5'11,217 I think for now the Seahawks will stick with their four quarterbacks,...

Seahawks' five biggest roster decisions revisited

A week ago today, I wrote about what I thought were the Seahawks' five biggest questions involving the roster. With one more game in the books, and that much closer to the deadline to set the final roster, I thought I'd quickly revisit those five questions: 1, Does Terrelle Pryor make it? As I wrote a week ago, I don't think there's any doubt that Tarvaris Jackson is the backup. The question is if Pryor also makes it. I'm not sure we are any closer to an answer after Friday's game, when Pryor went 0-2 with an interception. For all that he's done in the preseason, the stats indicate he remains...
Seahawks have backup-quarterback issue to settle in this short week before Thursday’s final exhibition at Oakland

Seahawks have backup-quarterback issue to settle in this short week before Thursday’s final exhibition at Oakland

The Seahawks get a second consecutive day off from practicing today. They will be back on the field at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on Monday. There are three days of workouts in Renton this week before the team flies to Oakland for the fourth and final exhibition game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell Wilson doesn’t play a down on Thursday, so that coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell can split the entire game between Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor. The Raiders came will a final determinant on who should be the primary backup quarterback, and on...

Who to Watch in Vikings Preseason Game #3

Tonight, the Vikings will take on the Chiefs in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. There are numerous position battles that could be won or lost, and roster spots could be claimed or slip away. The third preseason game is the most important, because on Tuesday, all teams have to cut their roster to 75 players. […]
