Earlier this week, reports came out that Raiders rookie quarterback, Matt McGloin, was making quite an impression on his new coaches with the Raiders. The report came from Chris Mortenson who goes as far as to say McGloin is pushing Terrelle Pryor and Tyler Wilson. The first problem here is Mortenson has never set foot in Raiders OTA's or minicamp since McGloin joined the team. For those of us who are at practices, this report was a bit surprising. Since the beginning of the off-season, the questions have swirled about who would be the Raiders starter next season. It was Carson Palmer and he was replaced by Matt Flynn. The team also drafted Tyler Wilson in the fourth round last April. All the while, Terrelle Pryor has been hoping to get his shot. At one time, Reggie McKenzie said the quarterback position was an open competition. Then just before OTA's, he announced Matt Flynn would be the starter heading into camps and every indication is that it's Flynn's job until further notice. A few interesting pieces of sports memorabilia from an equally interesting source appeared on EBay this week. The items include several supposed Big Ten Championship rings from Ohio State Buckeye players including one which appears to be Terrelle Pryor's ring. The EBay seller's name is "finelineinkusa2010" - fine-line-ink as in tattoos - and the item was literally listed as "2008 Ohio state big ten championship ring from tattoo scandal (pryor)". The picture shows the top of the ring with the Ohio "O" set on four engraved trophies, and the sides of the ring which has "Pryor" engraved on...

All through the off-season, Terrelle Pryor has been working to get better at the quarterback position. He hired three QB coaches to help with his footwork and mechanics which he Pryor says is the key to his improving his throwing motion and accuracy. He has also been getting with his teammates and working every chance he can get. But when you watch him practice, it doesn't appear that he has made great strides.
