Chiefs vs. Raiders Madden sim: This is not ideal

Chiefs vs. Raiders Madden sim: This is not ideal

Our weekly Madden sim was wrong last week; let’s hope it stays that way. This one against the Raiders was ugly. Watch above, or if you can’t, here’s the link. The results Raiders 20, Chiefs 6 After the Chiefs went ahead 3-0 on the first drive of the game, just about everything else went wrong. Alex Smith threw his first three interceptions of the season, Marshawn Lynch rushed for 189 yards, including an 84-yard score, and despite 143 yards from Travis Kelce, the Chiefs could not get into the end zone all game. Kicker Harrison Butker was only 2 of 4 in a game in which field goals could...

Arrowheadlines: What is the “something special” the Raiders punter has for Travis Kelce?

Arrowheadlines: What is the “something special” the Raiders punter has for Travis Kelce?

Forget the Chiefs: There is no best team in the NFL | The Ringer That was enough, as Kansas City scored its fewest points since Week 2 of last season. The Chiefs looked bad enough that it’s fair to question whether they are really even the NFL’s best team. (You know, as if you hadn’t already been saying “The Chiefs, really?” all season long.) The only problem with that thought is the very next question: If the Chiefs aren’t The Best NFL Team, then who is? Here’s the unfortunate conclusion: There is no Best Team in the NFL. Steelers vs. Chiefs Week 6 was the most-watched...

The Steelers shut down (almost) all the Chiefs star players

The Steelers shut down (almost) all the Chiefs star players

One reason I thought the Kansas City Chiefs might be past a game like the one we saw against the Pittsburgh Steelers is because on offense they have so many playmakers. Shut down Travis Kelce? OK, Tyreek Hill will go off. Shut down Kareem Hunt? OK, Alex Smith is playing at an MVP level. It felt like the Chiefs had too much firepower to lay a total egg, which they did against the Steelers. So, what happened? The Chiefs biggest stars were shut down, both offensively and defensively. QB Alex Smith had his first bad game of the season going 19/34 for 246 yards and one touchdown. The numbers...

Untested Pass Defense Will Face Challenge In Travis Kelce

Through the first five games of the 2016 regular season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been his usual difference-making self. He is already up to 29 receptions for 353 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The receptions and yardage numbers rank second only to the Eagles’ Zach... Sorry, Steelers: Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, Justin Houston, Tyreek Hill will play Sunday

Sorry, Steelers: Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, Justin Houston, Tyreek Hill will play Sunday

The Kansas City Chiefs had three pretty big names on the injury report this week but they will all play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs announced that TE Travis Kelce (concussion), LB Justin Houston (calf) and WR Tyreek Hill (hamstring) are expected to play this weekend when the Chiefs host the Steelers at Arrowhead. S Steven Terrell (concussion) and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (knee) will not play which was expected. Also, this will not be the week that C Mitch Morse returns, the Chiefs said. However, he started practicing this week so presumably he’s getting closer....

Chiefs appear to be getting good injury news for Steelers game

The Kansas City Chiefs could be getting some good injury news today after it was revealed that LB Justin Houston, TE Travis Kelce and WR Tyreek Hill were all spotted on the practice field on Friday. Justin Houston, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill all on the practice field for #Chiefs this morning.— Matt Derrick (@mattderrick) October 13, 2017 There are injury concerns with all three of them. Houston didn’t practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Kelce was advancing in the concussion protocol and Tyreek surprisingly popped up on the injury report on Thursday. I take it as good news that...

Injury update: good news for Travis Kelce, bad news for Tyreek Hill

The Kansas City Chiefs have added wide receiver Tyreek Hill to this week’s injury report, per BJ Kissel of Chiefs dot com. According to injury report, Travis Kelce was a full participant today, so there's that. And no, I don't know what it means for your FF team. pic.twitter.com/J1OvHzqfDF— BJ Kissel (@ChiefsReporter) October 12, 2017 Since Hill was not listed on the original report on Wednesday, that means this injury occurred this week, which is not a good sign. Linebacker Justin Houston missing a second day in a row is not good either. Some good news did come out of Thursday’s...

Chiefs have a bunch of injury updates for Thursday

Chiefs have a bunch of injury updates for Thursday

The Kansas City Chiefs got a bunch of injury news on Thursday. Some of it was good, some of it not so good. Let’s start with the bad. LB Justin Houston and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif are not practicing for the Chiefs. LDT we kinda expected but Houston misses his second consecutive practice with what the Chiefs called calf spasms. Missing two practices is concerning but you hope this is the Chiefs being cautious with a veteran who doesn’t need the practice time. something to monitor for Friday. The good is that TE Travis Kelce, C Mitch Morse and WR Albert Wilson returned to practice....
