The Indianapolis Colts have officially announced that they have signed former Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole. It was reported earlier this afternoon that the Colts would be signing former Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole, and while it took a little longer than expected, the team has officially announced the move. Cole spent the first ten seasons of his career with the Eagles, playing in 155 games (starting 145) and notching 569 tackles, 85.5 sacks, 14 passes defensed, an interception (returned for a touchdown), and 19 forced fumbles, along with making two Pro Bowls.  Ryan Grigson is familiar...

Browns fall short in Trent Cole sweepstakes

The Browns fell short in the sweepstakes for veteran free-agent edge rusher Trent Cole. The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday they have agreed to contract terms with Cole, who was recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles with 85.5 sacks on his resume. ESPN reported Cole received a two-year deal worth $16 million, including $8 million guaranteed. Browns coach Mike Pettine praised Cole on Monday night during the Cleveland Auto Show at the I-X Center. The Xenia, Ohio, native visited the organization Sunday and Monday. “It was a good visit,” Pettine said of Cole. “When we talk...

Trent Cole to the Colts is Not Done Yet

It was reported earlier this afternoon that pass rusher Trent Cole was signing with the Colts, and while that still might happen, it's not done yet. Earlier this afternoon, we noted the report from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport saying that the Colts were signing pass rusher Trent Cole.  But, while that still might happen, it's not done yet. ESPN's Adam Caplan and the Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder both reported that the deal is not yet done, and ESPN's Josina Anderson quoted a source as saying, "nothing done at all."  So, it sounds like the Colts' deal with Trent Cole is not done yet and...

Trent Cole, Colts agree on contract? [UPDATE]

Ryan Grigson strikes again! The Colts won't just be taking Todd Herremans (and possibly Frank Gore) from the Eagles. The team has reached a contract agreement with former Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cole had played his entire 10-year career in Philadelphia and was drafted along with Herremans in 2005. Colts general manager Ryan Grigson was on the staff that drafted both players, so their reunion in Indianapolis makes sense. The Colts are seemingly loading up on veterans with big names as Andrew Luck continues to progress. Cole will be in...

The Indianapolis Colts had former Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole in for a visit on Monday, and true to Ryan Grigson's form it sounds like he's not letting him leave without a deal.  According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Trent Cole will be signing with the Indianapolis Colts. The #Colts are signing pass-rusher Trent Cole— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 10, 2015 Grigson is familiar with Cole from the time they both spent in Philadelphia together, and the Colts really need pass rush help, which...

Brandon Graham is happy to be returning to the Eagles

For more news and rumors on the Eagles free agent moves, check out our Eagles 2015 free agency rumor tracker. Brandon Graham is back. The 26-year-old is staying in Philadelphia on a four-year contract worth up to $26 million with $14 million in guarantees. That certainly seems like a very fair deal for both sides. It's been a long road for the former first round pick. Once largely considered to be a bust, now Graham will likely take over as a starting 3-4 outside linebacker in place of Trent Cole in Philadelphia's defense. The reaction to the deal seems to be mostly positive. Starting with...

What The Dallas Cowboys Should And Should Not Do In Free Agency

Free agency is a mere two days and a few hours away, and what an exciting time it can be. I'm here to not only temper expectation but also give my opinion on what should be a successful outing for the Cowboys. We've only just begun, as some would say. First we had all the names being released last week. Staples in their organizations such as Vince Wilfork and Trent Cole have been set free. Others such as Ndamukong Suh and Devin McCourty will go to the highest bidders. We even have players being generous to remain with their own organizations, as did with Randall Cobb's 4 year, $40 million...

Worilds might be best fit for Eagles at outside linebacker

The Eagles sat out of the pass rusher shopping spree last offseason, waiting until the first round of the draft to address the position with Marcus Smith. They knew that one year later, Trent Cole would be older and more expensive, and Brandon Graham would become a free agent.

One pass rusher is off the market. We discussed it on the site as possible value pass rusher, and the Arizona Cardinals have interest. Veteran pass rusher Trent Cole is on the Cardinals radar, along with several other teams. According to ESPN reporter Adam Caplan, the Cardinals have "real interest" in the linebacker/defensive end.
