The Jaguars have parted ways with veteran defensive lineman Red Bryant. The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran defensive lineman Red Bryant, according to a report by Ryan O'Halloran. The move isn't much of a surprise after the team re-signed Tyson Alualu and locked up Jared Odrick in free agency, both of which are younger than Bryant. Bryant was one of the first free agents the Jaguars signed last offseason when he was released by the Seattle Seahawks and helped immediately stabilize the defensive line and was a leader in the locker room. The Jaguars have made the signing of defensive end Tyson Alualu official. The sides agreed to a two-year contract on Saturday. The team released statements from GM Dave Caldwell, coach Gus Bradley and Alualu. Caldwell: “This was a priority for us before free agency officially opened. Tyson is a durable player who has the ability to play multiple positions along the line and is a great teammate. We feel like he is continuing to improve as a player.” read more

Tyson Alualu to stick with Jaguars, will sign two-year contract

Before they began the process of negotiating with other teams’ free agents Saturday, the Jaguars locked up one of their own, agreeing to terms with defensive end Tyson Alualu. Alualu, who turns 28 on May 12, will sign a two-year, $6 million contract ($4.25 million guaranteed) once he passes a physical Sunday. Jaguars bringing back defensive lineman Tyson Alualu

The Jaguars have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Tyson Alualu to a two-year contract. It was first reported by ESPN. A source said the deal will likely be finalized Sunday once Alualu passes a physical. Alualu’s signing leaves 11 players scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency. The former No. 10 overall draft pick, Alualu has never missed a game in five years (80 games/64 starts). He has 314 tackles, 13 sacks and one fumble recovery. read more

The Jaguars have decided to bring back one of their own impending free agents. The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed defensive lineman Tyson Alualu, according to a report by Adam Schefter. Alualu was originally drafted with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, but after being a massive disappointment as a defensive tackle in the team's old defensive schemes, he found new life in Gus Bradley's hybrid defensive front.
