Bucs' McCoy compares Gholston to Peppers

Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy saw his team add two new key contributors to the defensive line in end Michael Johnson and tackle Clinton McDonald, but he's also excited about the progress he saw at the end of last season from rookie end William Gholston.

New York Jets Sign Vernon Gholston

According to a press release this morning, the New York Jets have decided to sign Vernon Gholston. As you all know, Gholston was the sixth overall pick by the Jets in 2008, and is widely considered to be one of, if not the biggest, busts in team history. After leaving the Jets, he briefly played for the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams. This is fascinating news, considering Gholston never once recorded a sack with the team that brought him in as a pass rushing specialist. In the release, GM John Idzik stressed, "He's cheap.
