Detroit Lions reveal Week 2 Inactive List

Heading into Sunday, we already knew that the Detroit Lions would be without offensive guard T.J. Lang, but the hope was that both Ezekiel Ansah and LeGarrette Blount, who were both listed as questionable, would be ready to suit up. Embed from Unfortunately, for the Lions and their fans, that hope came only halfway true. The Lions have released their Inactive List for today’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers and Ezekiel Ansah will be out for the game. Joining Ansah on the list is running back Ameer Abdullah, who was also inactive in Week 1. Today’s #Lions inactives. #DETvsSF...

Ezekiel Ansah won't play for Lions after all; Romeo Okwara replaces him

Ezekiel Ansah and T.J. Lang are two good players who battled injuries throughout the last two seasons. And the Detroit Lions will be without both of them for their Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Marquise Goodwin, Ezekiel Ansah inactive for 49ers-Lions

The San Francisco 49ers announced their inactives, and we don’t have any big surprises. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, guard Joshua Garnett, and offensive lineman Erik Magnuson were all ruled out on Friday, and thus are inactive. Right guard Mike Person is active for this game after entering the weekend questionable with a foot injury. Rookie Najee Toran was expected to start at right guard if Garnett and Person were inactive, but Person is available. We’ll find out shortly if Person will start at guard, or will be the top reserve interior lineman. Goodwin’s absence brings another...

Ezekiel Ansah, LeGarrette Blount expected to play vs. 49ers in Week 2

The Detroit Lions are expected to have a couple key pieces available to them in Week 2 vs. the San Francisco 49ers. Running back LeGarrette Blount and edge rusher Ezekiel Ansah were both listed as questionable on the final injury report, but both are expected to play, according to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport. Ansah suffered a shoulder injury last Monday against the New York Jets, and was limited all week. He is a key cog for their pass rush, in a defense that is already shaky to begin with. Blount suffered a shoulder injury of his own, but returns to a committee approach at running...

The Lions will be without at least one starter on Sunday. The Detroit Lions’ final injury report of Week 2 is out and it comes with some mixed news. As expected, starting right guard T.J. Lang is officially out for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, after missing all three days of practice with a back injury suffered late on Monday night. In his place, Kenny Wiggins is expected to start. As for defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, he is officially listed as questionable for Sunday, and was again a limited participant on Friday’s practice. Lions likely will be missing T.J. Lang, while Ezekiel Ansah is a question mark for Week 2

The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with a host of injuries, but the Detroit Lions have plenty of their own to consider. They wrapped up their final practice for Week 2, and guard T.J. Lang and edge rusher Ezekiel Ansah are significant question marks. Lang sat out all three practices this week due to a back injury. Ansah was a limited participant all three practices due to a shoulder injury. Players have played after missing a full week of practice, but Lions head coach Matt Patricia said these decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, according to Detroit Free-Press writer Dave...

Detroit Lions’ Week 2 Injury Report: Thursday

The Detroit Lions released their injury report from Thursday’s practice and it remained exactly the same as yesterday with offensive lineman Andrew Donnal and T.J. Lang sitting out. LeGarrette Blount, who dinged up his shoulder in Week 1 and Matthew Stafford who took some major hits against the Jets, were full participants both Wednesday and Thursday. As far as Ziggy Ansah goes, he is still not out of the woods despite an MRI that did not show any signs of damage to his shoulder. Lions guard T.J. Lang remains absent from practice, Ezekiel Ansah still limited

This could be huge for the 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers do not return to practice until 1:50 p.m. PT, but in the meantime, the Detroit Lions have begun their Thursday practice session. They will issue a formal practice participation report in a couple hours, but media on hand provided some important updates. No T.J. Lang (back) at practice again today. Ziggy (shoulder) was out there but no shoulder pads and wasn’t doing a ton, mostly sprints/cardio.Safe to say the #Lions could really use both vs. 49ers but may want to start planning without at least Lang.— Pride of Detroit...
