Injury update: Sony Michel’s knee injury not considered serious

Good news out of Foxboro. One of the biggest stories coming out of the New England Patriots’ 38-31 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday was the injury status of running back Sony Michel. Michel was subsequently declared “out” after he was carted to the locker room. The injury looked bad but initial reports were actually rather encouraging: Michel’s injury was not expected to be season-ending,...

The first-round rookie, who lost the football in the process of going to the ground, got his leg twisted awkwardly and afterwards had to be assisted off the field and later carted to the locker room. New England quickly announced that he would not return to the field and that he had suffered a knee injury. The extent of the...

Sony Michel injury puts a damper on Patriots’ win over Bears

The impressive rookie hurt his knee early in the second quarter yesterday. For a franchise record fourth straight game and despite going against one of the NFL’s best scoring defenses, the New England Patriots offense was able to break the 38-point barrier. There was a lot to like about the team’s offensive performance during its 38-31 win over the Chicago Bears – from Josh Gordon’s 100-yard output to the offensive line slowing down a ferocious pass rush.
