Chicago Bears Week Two Cornerback Report

The Chicago Bears bounced back in Week Two, did their cornerbacks? In Week One, the Chicago Bears cornerbacks were untouchable through one half, but faltered as the game went on.  This week, we saw a Prince Amukamara interception cap off a home win against the Seahawks. Did the cornerbacks bounce back? Kyle Fuller: 2-3, 29 […] Chicago Bears Week Two Cornerback Report - Bear Goggles On - Bear Goggles On - A Chicago Bears Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

5 observations from Bears-Seahawks: Mitch Trubisky's resilience, the Khalil Mack Effect, Jordan Howard's low average and more

The Bears’ 24-17 victory over the Seahawks at home Monday was an important step forward. Yes, the Seahawks played without three defensive starters and their top receiver. But the Bears have hardly been a sure bet when favored. This time, though, they demonstrated a new play-making edge on defense...

The Bears are still a work in progress, but that’s just fine

Chicago isn’t a polished team yet, but there is more talent and upside on their roster than any other team in years. In the midst of their first win of the 2018 regular season, the Chicago Bears showed a lot of promise on both sides of the ball. Their pass-rushing unit dominated against a below-average Seattle Seahawks offensive line. Their secondary, while not perfect, made its fair share of plays, including a pick-six from cornerback Prince Amukamara. The offense also showed flashes of what it could eventually become, as a handful of creative play calls, the spreading of the ball around...

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll thinks Russell Wilson is ‘over-trying a bit’

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson looked undoubtedly flustered during the team’s 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 2. Head coach Pete Carroll feels he may have an idea why. It is no secret that Seattle has experienced some trouble getting their offense started. Carroll said during an appearance on the Brock and Salk […] The post Seahawks coach Pete Carroll thinks Russell Wilson is ‘over-trying a bit’ appeared first on ClutchPoints.

Golden Nuggets: Welcome to Week 3

Golden Nuggets: Welcome to Week 3

Your San Francisco 49ers links for Tuesday, September 17th 2018 On a Monday Night Football game that I should be dancing around due to the Seattle Seahawks losing, I’m instead depressed. Why? Because I played the Bears defense in fantasy. And, my friends, if you’re up by 50 points and playing the Bears defense and Trey Burton, you aren’t going to win that battle. Beyond that, we learned that the Bears game in a few weeks is not going to be as easy as we thought. Not when they have Khalil Mack on payroll. And the Seahawks looked so bad. That score is not indicative of how that game...

Mack, Amukamara lead Bears over Seahawks 24-17

CHICAGO — Khalil Mack once again put on the sort of havoc-wreaking show the Chicago Bears envisioned when they traded for the superstar pass rusher.Even better for them, they came away with the victory this time.Mack had one of six sacks against Russell Wilson, Prince Amukamara returned an interception 49 yards for a touchdown and the Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 24-17 Monday night to give coach Matt Nagy his first career victory.Mack sprinted out of the tunnel to a neat ovation prior to his first appearance at Soldier Field since a blockbuster trade from Oakland just over two weeks ago....

Bears 24 Seahawks 17: This offense is offensive to watch

Bears 24 Seahawks 17: This offense is offensive to watch

The Seattle Seahawks offense largely embarrassed itself on Monday Night Football, falling 24-17 to 0-2 on the season after losing to the Chicago Bears. Don’t let the 17 fool you, as the Seahawks didn’t eclipse 100 yards until the 4th quarter. Despite a surprisingly good performance by a shorthanded defense, Russell Wilson was poor, as was Brian Schottenheimer’s playcalling, and the offensive line was ripped apart often through three quarters. A backbreaking Wilson pick-six to Prince Amukamara, followed by a lost fumble on the next possession, effectively ended hopes of a comeback win...

Seahawks-Bears: 3rd Quarter game thread

Seahawks-Bears: 3rd Quarter game thread

Somehow it’s only 10-3 Bears over the Seahawks. The defense has held up fairly well after a horrible start, and it also helps that Mitchell Trubisky likes to make bad decisions. This offense? It’s offensive to watch. Russell Wilson has been sacked five times and this is arguably the worst he’s ever looked, his first few rookie starts included. The defense has largely done its job despite being undermanned. This game, and any hope of the Seahawks being in the playoff hunt, will rely on the offense looking like it has any idea of how to move forward.

Monday Night Football open thread: Bears vs. Seahawks

Greetings, Raider Nation! Tonight marks the final game of Week 2 in the NFL as the Seahawks take on the Bears in the Windy City. Both of these teams started 0-1, as the Broncos and Packers both engineered fourth-quarter comebacks against their defenses. Chicago would seem to have the edge here, with what appeared to be a dominant defensive line now featuring Khalil Mack going against Seattle’s offensive line, which only exists in theory rather than practice. Denver’s pass rushers terrorized the Seahawks last week and Chicago’s should do the same tonight. Will Russell Wilson survive...
