Buffalo Bills cheerleaders suspend operations following lawsuit

Buffalo Bills cheerleaders suspend operations following lawsuit

The Buffalo Bills will have no Jills in 2014 - and possibly beyond. The Buffalo Bills won't have cheerleaders on the sideline or at charity or team events any time soon. On Thursday, the Buffalo Jills suspended operations at the same time as defending themselves from a lawsuit filed by five former members. The Bills ceased managing the squad directly in 1986 and private companies have operated the group since. Stejon Productions, Corp. took over ownership of the group in 2011 and President Stephanie Mateczun said today they had "suspended operations through at least the end of the...

Jets Show Up In Numbers For OTA's

Jets Show Up In Numbers For OTA's

Just a small note tonight, but one that I find encouraging and important to note. Earlier this week we wrote about the start of voluntary OTA's beginning for the Jets this Monday. There really isn't much football at all, but it's a reason for the players to hear back to the facility, sort their lockers, meet their new team-mates and for me, show the commitment to the cause. Some are financially motivated to show up, others just love what they do, and can't wait to get started. So it was great to see a message from Kristian Dyer tonight stating: Hearing from a team source that OTA...
2014 NFL Mock Draft: Brandin Cooks chosen by the New York Jets

2014 NFL Mock Draft: Brandin Cooks chosen by the New York Jets

With the 18th overall pick in the 2014 Bleeding Green Nation community mock draft, NYJ GM del.champion selects ... Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State Sorry, BGN. I know most of you, myself included, view Brandin Cooks as a potential DeSean Jackson consolation prize at 22. Unfortunately, considering they missed out on him in FA, the Jets likely feel the same way at 18. Plus I wanted to hook my boy Mike Vick up with at least one able bodied and useful receiver other than Greg Salas -- sorry Jeremy Kerley, Stephen Hill, David Nelson, and Santonio Holmes’ ghost. Cooks has it all, except the...

2014 NFL Schedule headlines for Miami Dolphins

The 2014 NFL schedule was released yesterday, giving fans a chance to review it, dissect it, predict wins, and, of course, plan trips to the stadium. It also gives us a chance to predict some headlines for each game on the Miami Dolphins' schedule. I thought I would have a little fun today by taking the 2014 Miami Dolphins schedule, and assigning a headline to each game.  Let me know what you think of my headlines, and feel free to share your own headlines as well: Week 1: New England Patriots - 1pm ET, Sunday Sep. 7South Florida heat welcomes AFC East Champs Week 2: @ Buffalo Bills -...

McShay Would Pick Gilbert For The Jets

McShay Would Pick Gilbert For The Jets

McShay has released another Mock draft, this time with a little twist. We all have our opinions on draft analysts, some we like, some we dislike. Some of us love mock drafts, some of us absolutely hate mock drafts. However for those who enjoy them, McShay is back with another mock but this one has a little twist to it. Most of the time, analysts will try and predict what the organization will do, even if they disagree themselves. They are predicting what they think will happen on draft night to the best of their ability, it's tough and it's not an exact science at all. So it's refreshing...

Draft Rumors: Do Idzik/Mornhinweg Like Marqise Lee at 18?

Draft Rumors: Do Idzik/Mornhinweg Like Marqise Lee at 18?

Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead just came out with a mock draft, and it had an interesting bullet in it: 18. New York Jets – Marqise Lee, WR, USC. To be clear, I’m not a fan of this. But the chatter goes like this: Jets WR Vidal Hazelton played at USC. He’s been raving about Lee. OC Marty Mornhinweg sees Lee as a stretch-the-field DeSean Jackson, like in his Philly days. Idzik sees Lee as a value pick – had he been in the draft last year, he might have been a Top 5 pick based on an incredible sophomore year (116 catches, 1,721 yards and 14 TDs). Obviously, we don't know who...

APC Mock Draft 2014: New England Patriots Select Louis Nix III

The Patriots find an intended successor to Vince Wilfork towards the end of round one. On the clock with the third pick of the day and the 29th selection overall, I will be drafting on behalf of the New England Patriots. Background The 2013 edition of the New England Patriots was as usual a winning team, posting a 12-4 record and a playoff win on their way to the AFC Championship game which they lost to the Denver Broncos. Tom Brady and company operated another top-10 offense that featured one of the better and more balanced running games behind Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount, while...

Miami Dolphins Under The Radar Draft Prospects

Miami Dolphins Under The Radar Draft Prospects

Last installment, we looked at a big tight end from the University of Washington. This time, we are going to review an athletic offensive lineman from North Dakota State. Last week, we looked at a tight end in Austin Seferian-Jenkins that may be a draft day target for the Dolphins. ASJ was brought in by the team for a visit last week and could provide Ryan Tannehill the big red zone target he currently lacks. This week, we will look at a potential mid round pick that could become not just a starter, but an impact player on the offensive line. Everyone and their brother knew the Miami...

Patriots Sign LB Josh Hull

Patriots Sign LB Josh Hull

New England added some depth this afternoon by signing former Redskins LB Josh Hull. There was a minor ripple on the Patriots roster front this afternoon, as the team signed former Rams and Redskins linebacker Josh Hull. Hull, 26, was initially drafted by St. Louis in 2013, where he spent three years with the team before moving to Washington last year. Hull is a proficient special teams player and depth linebacker, and will likely be asked (should he make final cuts) to fill the role left by Dane Fletcher after his departure for Tampa Bay earlier this year. If he does end up making the...

Todd McShay Mock Draft 2014 has Dolphins looking WR in first round

Todd McShay Mock Draft 2014 has Dolphins looking WR in first round

In a change from the norm, ESPN's Todd McShay has the Miami Dolphins not landing an offensive lineman as is usually projected to them, but instead a wide receiver. What happens to the Miami Dolphins' draft plans when Greg Robinson, Jake Matthews, Taylor Lewan, Morgan Moses, and Zack Martin are all off the board prior to the 19th overall selection?  Add in Eric Ebron, Aaron Donald, and C.J. Mosley also being selected, and suddenly, the Dolphins' pick at 19 becomes a muddled decision based solely on how the team ranks players on the board. That's exactly the scenario presented in ESPN...

Dolphins not looking at Kouandjio in first according to report

Last week, the Miami Dolphins were said to be targeting Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio in the first round of next month's NFL Draft. Today, a report contradicts that idea. Welcome to smokescreen season. There is nothing quite like the month leading up to the NFL Draft.  Rumors abound and sources are all too willing to share a team's draft plans and potential targets.  It's a great time of the year to be a football fan, with more stories than you can possibly read pouring out.  Of course, whatever news story you are reading, you can bet there's a good chance you will read the...

NFL Draft 2014: C.J. Mosley visits Buffalo Bills

NFL Draft 2014: C.J. Mosley visits Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have now hosted 28 players on pre-draft visits this spring, meaning that they only have room for two such visits before the big event in two weeks. With the 2014 NFL Draft now two weeks away, the Buffalo Bills are on the verge of wrapping up their pre-draft visitor schedule. Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley and Towson running back Terrance West are at One Bills Drive on Thursday, meaning that the team has room for just two more visitors this year. West's name had been previously reported; the ultra-productive running back (83 career rushing touchdowns, including 40 as a...

#ThrowbackThursday: Dolphins select Brian Hartline in fourth round (2009)

Our #ThrowbackThursday this week jumps us back to five years ago this week, when the Miami Dolphins used a fourth round draft pick on a "not overly productive" wide receiver from Ohio State who had "just average speed." We look back at the Dolphins adding Brian Hartline - who, let's say proved the skeptic wrong and explained pretty well why the Dolphins picked him. This post was originally written by Matt Infante on April 26, 2009. Rd. # Player Pos. College 4 108 Brian Hartline WR Ohio St. With their fourth round pick, the Dolphins have selected another wide receiver - Brian...

2014 NFL mock draft: OT Taylor Lewan to Buffalo Bills with 9th pick

2014 NFL mock draft: OT Taylor Lewan to Buffalo Bills with 9th pick

With the 9th pick in the 2014 Mile High Report Community Mock Draft, Buffalo Bills GM Arimaris selects... The Bills had quite a few options with the ninth pick. There are solid or better players in many places on the team; everywhere, that is, except for the offensive line. The reality is that Buffalo need a player who can immediately start in the NFL at the tackle position. As a franchise, the Bills need to decide whether EJ Manuel is the long-term answer at quarterback. In order to show this, he deserves the best possible opportunity, which means the holes on the offensive line must be...

QUOTE: Rex Ryan on Short-Week Patriots Game

“Obviously that’s a huge challenge,” Ryan said. “It’s another year where we go on the road on a Thursday night to play New England, [which] isn’t ideal. But again, we’ll be up for it. It is a challenge. You’re facing the two best teams in the AFC last year, who played in the [AFC] Championship […]
