The Phinsider — The Miami Dolphins announced several team awards yesterday, recognizing players for their play and off-field work during the 2012 season. The awards were headlined by defensive end Cameron Wake being presented the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player. The award is voted upon by the South Florida media, and marks the first time Wake has been named the team's MVP. He started all 16 games in 2012 for Miami, recording 53 tackles and 15 sacks. Pats Pulpit — The Patriots have continued their pursuit of former Rutgers players, as they have claimed offensive lineman Kevin Haslam off waivers from the Chargers. Haslam, who last played for the Scarlet Knights in 2010, was waived by San Diego on Tuesday. Haslam brings NFL experience to New England, as he has appeared in 10 career games over his two year career. Gang Green Nation — The most anticipated agent hiring in recent NFL history has been made. Jets quarterback Geno Smith has hired Jay Z's Roc Sports to represent him. Roc Sports is a new agency, but it has already developed a high profile list of clients, including Yankees superstar Robinson Cano. This will not really impact Geno's rookie contract.
