Patriots OL coach Dante Scarnecchia explains how he’s changing the offensive line from last season’s debacle

The new coach has an idea of how he’s going to fix the offensive line. If you ask Pro Football Focus (PFF), the Patriots pass protection has disintegrated over the past few years. The Patriots pass blocking has fallen from 4th in their 2009 rankings to 10th, 8th, 16th, 19th, 31st, and 31st in each subsequent season. After ranking as a top 3 offensive line from 2009-2012, the Patriots have fallen to 14th, 23rd, and finally 25th this past season. Offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is back after his two-year retirement (the two years the Patriots ranked 31st in pass protection) and he...

Ryan Fitzpatrick is back in the fold for the Jets. Some of the details have emerged on the last minute maneuverings to get a deal done. Jets increased their offer Wed from $8M to $12M and gave Fitz until 7 p.m. ET to take deal or team would be "moving on," per @AdamSchefter — Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) July 27, 2016 This speaks to a few things. Mike Maccagnan was a man of his word when he said the deadline was the start of training camp to get something done with Fitzpatrick. We are also seeing a pattern emerge with Maccagnan in his negotiating style. He doesn't seem to show his cards...

Jets Sign Darron Lee

The Jets have signed first round pick Darron Lee a day before the first practice of training camp. Jets and first-round pick Darron Lee reached agreement, per source. Only two unsigned first-round picks now remain. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 27, 2016 Darron Lee's 4-yr, $10.2 M deal fully gtd, but includes default language that allows #Jets to recoup some of gtd $ if cut for non-fbl reason — Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) July 27, 2016 This means the Jets essentially gave Lee what he wanted. Patriots Training Camp Storylines: Will Dont’a Hightower or Jamie Collins receive the first extension?

Alec and Rich break down the Patriots LB position Alec Let's work our way towards the back of the defensive lineup now and talk about the linebackers. In Dont'a Hightower and Jamie Collins, the Patriots have one of the best 'backer duos in the entire league, and I can't wait to see them on the field and fully healthy. Shea McClellin looks to be a solid contributor as well. Linebacker depth, however, is something I'm a little worried about; after the three guys I just mentioned, it's the likes of Jonathan Freeny, Rufus Johnson, Ramon Humber, and Elandon Roberts slated to step in if one of...
