Deion Jones injury: Quinn rules Jones out for Sunday against Cowboys

Deion Jones injury: Quinn rules Jones out for Sunday against Cowboys

The reinforcements just aren’t fully healthy yet. The Atlanta Falcons recently activated Deion Jones from injured reserve, giving us some hope he could play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Atlanta’s defense hasn’t looked anywhere close to the 2017 version with Jones out, and they could definitely use the help in a must-win game against a beatable Cowboys team. The help isn’t coming, as head coach Dan Quinn has already ruled out the Pro Bowl linebacker. Deion Jones will not play vs. the Cowboys, Matt Bryant will kick against the Cowboys. #Falcons— Kelsey Conway...

Nate Newton on why it's a good thing the Dallas Cowboys aren't playing 'desperate' football

Nate Newton on why it's a good thing the Dallas Cowboys aren't playing 'desperate' football

Former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Nate Newton, a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion, recently joined JaM Session on KESN-FM 103.3 ESPN to talk all things football. Here are some highlights:How can Dallas replicate their performance in Philadelphia against the Falcons?Newton: "Stay aggressive. Stay aggressive. I hear a lot of people - 'Oh, they're desperate.' - Desperate for what? ... Cowboys vs. Falcons: Previewing the Atlanta offense

Cowboys vs. Falcons: Previewing the Atlanta offense

With so many playmakers, you’d expect the Atlanta offense to put up better numbers. When the Atlanta Falcons went to the Super Bowl and almost won, it was on the strength of their potent and dynamic offense led by Kyle Shanahan. Since Shanahan left, though, new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian has had a shaky go of things thus far. He has this offense performing better than last season, but there are still stretches where they seem to go cold. On paper, it looks as if the offense is doing great. They’re averaging 27 points per game, Matt Ryan has just over 3,000 yards through...

But through the first 10 weeks of the regular season, many of those teams hopes have faded and several others have seen them rise.
