Jets vs. Buffalo Bills has historic betting line, according to Vegas

The 1-6 Jets are favored to beat the 4-3 Bills. Why is that so significant?

Prediction: Jets will beat Bills

This is a law-of-averages pick. The New York Jets have lost six straight, including four games by one score (eight points or less) -- the most such losses in the NFL, according to ESPN Stats & Information. They have to win a game at some point (don't they?), and this might be their best chance, facing a team they usually dominate at home. They've won five of the last six meetings at home over the Buffalo Bills This will be an ugly, low-scoring game, dominated by two terrific defensive lines.

Bills vs. Jets preview

Since taking over the New York Jets in 2009, Rex Ryan is 7-3 against the Buffalo Bills -- the only team in the AFC East he can beat on a fairly consistent basis. Now Ryan and the Jets could be on the verge of losing that. The Jets (1-6), losers of six straight, are heading nowhere. The Bills (4-3), in their second season under Doug Marrone, still have a chance to make something of their season. They meet Sunday at MetLife Stadium. ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini and ESPN Bills reporter Mike Rodak discuss the matchup: Cimini: Let's start with the quarterbacks.

Getting to know the Bills

If the New York Jets can't beat the Buffalo Bills at home, who can they beat? The Jets have won the last four meetings at MetLife Stadium by a combined score of 141-79. Despite a six-game losing streak, they're actually favored in this game. The Bills, making positive strides in their second season under Bronx native Doug Marrone, are bidding for their first winning season since 2004. It's an important AFC East game for the Bills, who can't afford a loss to the struggling Jets.
