Bengals safeties focused on creating more interceptions; everyone will get opportunity

Bengals safeties focused on creating more interceptions; everyone will get opportunity

The Bengals clearly see the need to create more turnovers, and one of the best ways to do that is to focus in on interceptions. There are two big reasons why the Bengals’ safeties need to refocus on creating more interceptions. The first is the way the NFL rules are changing on defense. Safeties, who opt to try and dislodge the ball from receivers rather than make a play on the ball, are more likely to get flagged—especially with the new contact and targeting rules. The second reason is because the Bengals simply didn’t have that many interceptions last weekend. Last season the...

Is this year’s Bengals offense better than last year’s?

Is this year’s Bengals offense better than last year’s?

The Bengals have added a few players to the offensive line, but is the offense actually better now than it was last season? It seems like an obvious question, but when you look at it on paper, a lot is the same about the Bengals’ offense this season as it was last season. The only major additions come in the form of left tackle Cordy Glenn and center Billy Price. In fact, the major reason the question of whether the Bengals’ offense has improved this offseason seems so obvious is because of the changes that are taking place aside from player personnel. The Bengals kept their interim...

Top 10 Cincinnati Bengals under 25-years-old

Top 10 Cincinnati Bengals under 25-years-old

The Bengals have plenty of talented players who have yet to hit their prime. The Bengals have acquired quite a bit of young talent over the past couple of seasons, including some highly talented players who have yet to hit their prime. In most cases 25-years-old is the age players hit their prime, so why not see who the best players are on the roster who have yet to hit that mark. A couple disclaimers first. All of these players are under 25 meaning a guy like William Jackson who turned 25 in April doesn’t qualify. I also attempted to keep rookies off the list, but I had to stick one in...

Frank Pollack is changing culture of what some Bengals coaches referred to as a ‘soft’ offensive line

Frank Pollack is changing culture of what some Bengals coaches referred to as a ‘soft’ offensive line

It is already clear that Frank Pollack has changed the way the offensive line views the game, which is good after some Bengals’ coaches thought the offensive line had grown “soft” the past two seasons. It is no secret the Bengals haven’t been good enough along the offensive line. What some may forget is even before the team let Andrew Whitworth and Kevin Zeitler walk in free agency, Cincinnati still weren’t doing a good enough job up front. So, it really didn’t come as a huge surprise when Marvin Lewis was re-signed that the team didn’t bring Paul Alexander back for the 2018...
