Joe Mixon Needs to be Cincinnati’s Great Equalizer in 2019

The Bengals defense may improve in 2019 but will still be a weak spot. Even though he is on the other side of the ball, Joe Mixon represents the best way for that weakness to be covered up. The Bengals defense was bad last year… Really bad. 29th against the run, dead last against the […] Joe Mixon Needs to be Cincinnati’s Great Equalizer in 2019 - Stripe Hype - Stripe Hype - A Cincinnati Bengals Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

Bengals send Zac Taylor to attend Ohio State pro day

Zac Taylor made the trek to Columbus to check out Ohio State’s pro day. As they do every year, the Bengals made the hour-and-a-half trek up 1-71 to see Ohio State’s pro day in present. Head coaches spotted at @OhioStateFB Pro Day so far: #Giants Pat Shurmur, #Vikings Mike Zimmer, #Bengals Zac Taylor, #Redskins Jay Gruden.— Aditi Kinkhabwala (@AKinkhabwala) March 20, 2019 The consensus top prospect in this draft class is edge rusher Nick Bosa, and while he didn’t exactly dominate quite like his brother Joey before him in the scarlet and gray, the athleticism and traits are...

Mel Kiper regrades 2018 draft, lowers Bengals’ grade

Mel Kiper regrades 2018 draft, lowers Bengals’ grade

EPSN analyst Mel Kiper initially gave the Bengals a B for their 2018 draft, but gave lower marks based on the season results. ESPN’s Mel Kiper re-graded the 2018 draft, and the Bengals scored quite poorly. Kiper initially gave the Bengals a B immediately afterwards, but now that he has seen a season of productivity from that class, he changed his mind. The Bengals new grade has fallen all the way to a C+. According to Kiper’s grading system, the Browns and the Colts (who drafted two All-Pros) were the only teams to get an A, whereas the Titans, Buccaneers, Saints, and Jaguars all graded...

Bengals News (3/20): Tyler Eifert ready to start a new party in Cincinnati

Tyler Eifert is ditching the mullet for the new era of Bengals football. Cincinnati Bengals: TE Tyler Eifert’s mullet ‘gone forever,’ new contract bets on health The oft-injured tight end can’t seem to stay healthy – playing 14 of a potential 48 games the last three seasons – but the allure of dynamic playmaking he brings to the table when fully upright is so intoxicating the Bengals went in on a similar deal as the one signed last year. Hobson's Choice: New Year GreetingsI also know what Zac Taylor thinks of Dalton and he must think Dalton is good enough to get his coaching...

Bengals send Zac Taylor to attend Alabama pro day

The Bengals head coach made his way to probably one of the more talented pro days of the offseason. An embarrassing defeat at the hands of Clemson in the National Championship game doesn’t diminish the talent the Alabama Crimson Tide will continue to pump into the NFL. The powerhouse program held their pro day on Tuesday, and the Bengals and every other franchise is in attendance. Vontaze Burfict visiting Raiders

Burfict could be reuniting with former-Bengals’ defensive coordinator Paul Guenther in Oakland. Yesterday, the Bengals officially parted ways with linebacker Vontaze Burfict after seven seasons with the team. It was a move that many expected, as the Bengals hired a new head coach in Zac Taylor this offseason, and Burfict had one of his worst seasons this past year. It isn’t surprising either to hear his first visit will be with a familiar face. That didn’t take long: Vontaze Burfict is on his way to visit the #Raiders, sources tell me and @RapSheet. #Bengals cut the veteran LB...

The Orange and Black Insider Bengals podcast: 3/19 livestream

Guest co-host Cody Tewmey joins the program, as we take a look at the most recent Bengals free agency activities. Has Cincinnati merely treaded water, or have they actually markedly improved as a team? What do their moves mean for next month’s draft? It’s been a roller coaster of a ride, in terms of the start of Bengals free agency. Who Dey Nation was up in arms in a couple of early contracts, but they’ve been a little more active early on than we expected. Even so, it’s been a lot more of the same from previous March forays. The Bengals have re-signed many of their own and have...

Bengals’ Tyler Eifert talks about coming back from ‘freak’ injury

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert suffered a nasty broken ankle last season. As hard as it was to go through, it’s actually a source of pride at this point. Bengals like what new guard John Miller brings to the offense

The Bengals signed a projected starter for the offensive line last week and many aspects about his skill set and work ethic drew the staff to his services. The Cincinnati Bengals’ approach to 2019 free agency has been very similar to that of previous years. It’s largely been about keeping their own valued talents they have developed, while keeping an eye on other extensions they would like to get done. However, they have dipped their toes in unfamiliar waters this offseason. One of their acquisitions is an interesting guard in John Miller, whose new deal has the look of a guy penciled...

A lot of emotion after these two moves. The Bengals launched the second week of free agency with a wide spectrum of emotions. First things first, Tyler Eifert made it official and signed his new contract on Monday after news that he had reached a deal broke on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Excited to be signing back with the @Bengals! Can’t thank the Brown family enough for giving me another opportunity. I look forward to a great season. Oh and signing on St. Paddy’s day?
