Five Observations On The Cowboys 31-17 Victory Over The Bears

The Cowboys jumped out to an early lead and were able to hold off any attempt at a Bears comeback. It was already known that the Chicago Bears were banged up and that this was a very winnable game for the Dallas Cowboys, but they still had to go out and do the work. And luckily for all of us, that’s exactly what they did. There have been some nerve-wracking moments already this season so it was nice to be able and relax and watch the Cowboys comfortably outplay the other team. Here are five observations from the Cowboys win on Sunday night. Prescott Rolls On Let’s all agree on this one...

Snapchat video sums up 49ers-Seahawks ugliness

Someone passed along this video, and I think it did a good job summing up Sunday for a lot of us. The video is vertical and a little herky-jerky because it was shot on Snapchat and subsequently moved over to YouTube. But in light of the day that was, I figured it was worth a share to close out the evening.

Cowboys Build Up Early Lead Over Bears, Then Hold On For 31-17 Win

The first half was all Dallas, and they held off Chicago in the second as they just had more than the battered Bears could handle. The third game of the season for the Dallas Cowboys saw them facing a depleted Chicago Bears team with a backup quarterback and missing players all over the defense. It was a game that the Cowboys should have dominated despite being without Tyron Smith and Orlando Scandrick themselves, and of course rolling with Dak Prescott. But we have seen Dallas stumble too often before in similar situations. Fortunately, that did not happen as they rolled to a big early...

Michael Bennett thinks Colin Kaepernick gives 49ers a better chance to win

Opinions are not exactly mixed on this. The San Francisco 49ers rivalry with the Seattle Seahawks created some bad blood in 2012 and 2013, but players are willing to admit respect for other players. Following the 49ers embarrassing Week 3 loss, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett made it clear what he thought of the 49ers quarterback situation. Bennett thinks Blaine Gabbert is no challenge, and Colin Kaepernick gives the 49ers the best chance to win. Jennifer Chan has this from Bennett’s post-game media session: Michael Bennett's thoughts on the challenge of containing Gabbert and...

Wentz Shines Again; Eagles Dominate Steelers 34-3 to Get to 3-0

Carson Wentz threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns, a fierce defense shut down Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-3 on Sunday to remain unbeaten. The rookie No. 2 overall pick connected with Darren Sproles on a 73-yard, catch-and-run TD and tossed a 12-yard TD pass to […]

Rams Offense Breaks Loose; Top Buccaneers 37-32 in Tampa

Case Keenum threw for the Rams’ first touchdown since relocating back to Los Angeles, and Todd Gurley rushed for two more scores Sunday in a 37-32 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Rams (2-1), who did not get into the end zone in the first two games of the season, also scored on Ethan […]

49ers Clobbered by Seahawks 37-18

Russell Wilson is already dealing with more injuries in the first three weeks of the 2016 season than the first four years of his career. This time, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback got lucky. Wilson threw for 243 yards and a touchdown before suffering a left knee injury and the Seattle Seahawks rolled to a 37-18 […]

What Chip Kelly’s support means to Colin Kaepernick

As the movement that was started by Kapernick continues to grow, one of the supporters that means the most to the QB is his own head coach Many people across the sports world have stepped out in support of Colin Kaepernick’s movement, one in particular, is his own head coach Chip Kelly. The coach not only went to battle for the QB during a press conference regarding the QB’s right to talk about the issues when he’s asked about them, but also offered his own opinion that inalienable rights of american citizens are being violated and that shedding light on these issues is a positive...

Fourth Quarter Failures Stall Giants; Fall at Home to Redskins 29-27

49ers defense gashed over and over again by Seahawks

It has not been a good couple weeks for the 49ers defense. The San Francisco 49ers lost to the Seattle Seahawks in decisive fashion on Sunday, getting dominated in every aspect of the game. We’ll have plenty more to say about Blaine Gabbert’s performance and future as starting quarterback, but the defense deserves a look as well. The 49ers defense got the season off to a hot start, shutting out the Los Angeles Rams, and having no trouble against Todd Gurley. Since then, the 49ers have given up 947 yards and 83 points combined over the last two games. They got into the shootout with...

The Bucs lost by 5 after missing 8 points of kicks and two-pointers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just lost to the Los Angeles Rams by allowing them to score 37 points. For reference: the Rams had scored all of nine points in the two games before that. Methinks the Bucs defense kind of sucks. Me also thinks that there were many things that could have gone better for the Bucs to win. One of those things would be Roberto Aguayo, who missed a field goal and an extra point, leaving four points on the board. The Bucs then left another four points on the board by going for two twice, and failing to get the two-pointer on both occasions. That’s eight points the...

Cigar Thoughts, Game 3: Seahawks invite 49ers over for tea, punch them in the head for three hours instead

The Seahawks stagnant offense explodes in lopsided victory over rival 49ers Once upon a time, the Seahawks and the 49ers had the best rivalry in the NFL and it wasn’t particularly close. That was less than four years ago, but if it seems longer than that it’s because these two teams haven’t been particularly close, either. It started on a rainy winter night in Seattle, when Kam Chancellor hit Vernon Davis so hard you could see his soul leave his body on impact. In the nine meetings since Kam effectively ended Vernon’s career, Seattle is 8-1 against San Fran and have...

Rams vs. Buccaneers final score: Tampa Bay defense gives up the ghost

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put up another embarrassing performance, losing 37-32 to the Los Angeles Rams in what was still a very close game. A one-hour lightning delay interrupted a potential Bucs comeback, who came up just short of a win in their first home game of the season. The Rams had scored just nine points all season before this game, and their offense had looked absolutely anemic. The Rams hadn’t scored more than 34 points since 2014. Their offense has been a mess, and Case Keenum is no good. Despite that, they put up 37 points against a defense that was overhauled this offseason....

Winners and Losers From the Week 3 Loss

Who played well and who didn't in Buffalo? Another slow start, more mental errors, and the Cardinals are 1-2 in a season where they are playing wildly inconsistent football. Despite the loss, some players played well and this is an article to highlight the positives and negatives among the team. So let's start with the good. Winners- Marcus Cooper and Patrick Peterson- The corners both played well. Granted, the Bills were missing Watkins and relied more on the running game, but Cooper and Pat Pete notched 10 combined tackles and PP21 had an impressive pick. Hard to fault these...

Watch Jameis Winston find Mike Evans for the jump-ball touchdown

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are waiting for the lightning delay to be finished, so they can try to beat the Los Angeles Rams. They’re only in that position because Jameis Winston found Mike Evans in the end zone to bring it back to a one-score game, though.
