Raiders vs Titans final injury report: Rodney Hudson doubtful with ankle sprain

After missing practice all week due to re-aggravating his ankle sprain, center Rodney Hudson is officially doubtful for the Raiders as they travel to Tennessee to face the Titans. Replacing him in the likelihood he won't be able to play will once again be Tony Bergstrom. Taiwan Jones was reported today as having a PCL sprain in his knee. He returned to practice Friday on a limited basis and is officially questionable. The team activated return man Jeremy Ross this week in case Jones is unable to go. Here is the entire injury reports for both teams: INJURY REPORT Oakland at Tennessee...

What does the future hold for our Raiders in Music City this week? The Great Beyond reveals all! Greetings, Raider fans! It is I, Raiderdamus, the thankfullest man alive. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, as it will be done before this article is posted. I trust you all will be reading it after you have woken up from your tryptophan comas and the dull march-unto-death monotony of yet another Thanksgiving Day slate involving the Lions and Cowboys. I come to you today exasperated by the feckless play of our beloved Raiders, especially that of Amari Cooper, whom I blame exclusively...

Bears vs Packers Thanksgiving Day: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming, announcers, odds, more

It's the Bears. It's the Packers. That's a statement you expect to hear said in a deep powerful voice. Two of the classic NFL teams playing on Thanksgiving Day, which has become synonymous with football. We've seen two blowouts already today with the Lions wiping the field with the Eagles, and the Panthers pummeling the Cowboys. At the outset, the Packers and Bears don't appear to be built to blow anyone out this season. In fact, both teams have looked pretty bad of late. But the game still features Aaron Rodgers who can put the team on his shoulders given the right match-up. So, we'll...

Panthers vs Cowboys Thanksgiving Day: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming, announcers, odds, more

We've already seen the Lions completely destroy the Eagles in the Thanksgiving opener. Now it's time for the Cowboys to host the Panthers. The Panthers are undefeated on the season (10-0). they face a 3-7 Cowboys team and yet this is supposed to be tight game. Why? Well, because despite the Cowboys being just 3-7, they are 3-0 with Tony Romo at quarterback. He returned last week in a win over the Dolphins. We are into the afternoon which means some of you have probably already starting munching and perhaps have had a few tasty beverages as well. Here are all the details for the game: What:...

For the second-straight practice this week, Raiders were without Rodney Hudson and Taiwan Jones. The only person who returned to practice was Charles Woodson who always takes Wednesday off. Others still missing were Keith McGill and Neiron Ball. For the Titans, linebacker Derrick Morgan missed practice with a shoulder injury. They got nose tackle Sammie Hill back at practice. Eagles vs Lions Thanksgiving Day game time, TV schedule, online streaming, open thread

The NFL gets kicked off this Thanksgiving day with the Eagles and Lions. The Lions are a Thanksgiving Day tradition and you'd know that if you ever watched the show Home Improvement. And if you never watched Home Improvement, you're a terrible person. The Lions are fresh off their big win over the Raiders last Sunday and are looking to make it three-straight after starting the season with one win over their first eight games. While the Eagles are slipping, having lost two straight including an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the upstart Buccaneers. Rumblings of Chip Kelly being let go...

NFL week 12 game picks: Giving Oakland another shot

It's interesting when a team goes on a three-game losing streak and yet each week still offers a reason to think they can win. That's what the Raiders have done over the past month. Much of that has to do with their opponent getting progressively easier each week, starting with the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Vikings in Oakland, the Lions in Detroit, and now the 2-win Titans in Tennessee. So, naturally, yet again the consensus of the staff is picking the Raiders. Which if recent history is any indication, that doesn't bode well for the Raiders' chances. Last week all but one of us (Jeff)...

Raiders vs Titans injury report: Rodney Hudson missing with ankle injury, Lee Smith back full

Just as Jack Del Rio said he would be, Lee Smith was back as a full participant in practice just days after having surgery on his wrist. Not at practice was Rodney Hudson who re-aggravated his sprained ankle in last Sunday's loss to the Lions. Also leaving that game with injuries were Taiwan Jones (knee) and Keith McGill (ankle). Neither practiced Wednesday. It is nearing when rookie linebacker Neiron Ball was expected to be back from his knee injury, but as of Wednesday he was still not practicing. Here are the full injury reports for both teams: INJURY REPORT Oakland at Tennessee...

Raiders call up return specialist Jeremy Ross from practice squad

The return game for the Raiders this season has not been great. They have signed and released several return specialists this season trying to remedy it. Last week they added Jeremy Ross to the practice squad. Wednesday he was officially added to the active roster. Primary kick return specialist Taiwan Jones fumbled three times in the team's week 9 loss the Steelers, including a crucial fumble on a kick return inside the 10-yard-line that resulted in a touchdown. Last week he touched the ball one time, and fumbled it. Then he recovered the fumble only to leave the game with an injury. He...

NFL 2015 Pro Bowl voting: Charles Woodson leading vote getter, several other Raiders top ten at position

With the NFL in the latter part of the season, Pro Bowl voting is in full swing. And the Raiders are fairly well represented among the top vote getters. Chief among them is the ageless Charles Woodson who leads all safeties in Pro Bowl votes. Not only does Woodson lead all safeties in votes, but he leads them by a very wide margin. His 107841 Pro Bowl votes is nearly twice that of the next highest vote getter at strong safety -- Seahawks Kam Chancellor who has 54530 votes. Woodson, a former Defensive Player of the Year, is tied for the NFL lead with five interceptions on the season. Other...

Fantasy Focus: Raiders vs Titans

While some will debate whether the Oakland season is officially over, for anyone arguing otherwise, this week's matchup against the 2-8 Titans categorizes as "must-win". What could have been... In a matchup featuring two high-powered offenses against two low-powered defenses, the Raiders matchup against the Lions had so much intrigue. And, well, then the Raiders laid a dud. Coming into the game, the Lions were allowing over 367 yards per game, and yet, the Raiders put together a meager 214 total yards against them. As a result, the fantasy picks were disappointing... For studs I gave you...

Just one Raider makes semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2016

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced their semifinalists for the class of 2016 Tuesday. When the Hall of Fame announced their 108 nominees, there were seven former Raiders among them. With the trimming to 25 semifinalists, just one remains -- RB Roger Craig. The six who were cut from the list were T Jim Lachey, G Steve Wisniewski, LB Matt Millen, CB Eric Allen, CB Albert Lewis, HC Tom Flores. These former players join an alreadylong list of Raiders snubs. Craig spent most of his 11-year career with the 49ers, where he was named to 4 Pro Bowls and was a 1-time All Pro. He also got...

Raiders week 11 Ballers & Busters vs Lions

Not since the rout by the Bengals in the season opener have the Raiders played an uglier game than they did Sunday against the Lions. Playing that way against the Bengals made at least some sense considering the Bengals are one of the best teams in the league this season. Playing that way against the Lions is inexcusable. Thoughout the first half, the Raiders defense was playing ‘bend but don't break' football. Not that they have much of a choice; it's either that or just break. Meanwhile the offense was taking a 30-minute break. And therefore the Lions took a 9-0 lead at half time off of...

Raiders week 11 Ballers & Busters vs Lions: Part two

Delivering the inglorious performances in the Raiders ugly 18-13 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Busters Editor's note: This week's Top Buster was a decision I was unable to give to just one person or even a couple people. There were so many critical mistakes across the team, it made that task impossible. So, what I've done this week is split the Busters in the two tiers - the Top Busters and the rest of the Busters. For the Top Busters we'll just start at the top of the chain and go from there. Jack Del Rio When this team was putting up big points on offense a few weeks ago and blew out the...

Titans vs. Raiders: What are the odds?

The Titans take on a resurgent Oakland Raiders team this Sunday at Nissan Stadium.  The line opened at Titans +2.  This is going to be an interesting game that once again pits strength against strength.  Derek Carr has been playing really well, except for this past Sunday when he screwed me in DFS, but that's not what we are talking about here.  They have a solid set of skill position players in Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree and Latavius Murray. The Raiders are not very good on defense.  They are 29th is yards per game, 30th in passing yards per game, 23rd in rushing yards per game,...

Bengals vs Cardinals Sunday Night Football open thread

What a match-up for Sunday Night Football this week. Two of the best teams in the NFL face off with the Bengals vs the Cardinals. So many storylines for this one. It's Carson Palmer against the team he sat out and forced a trade. He is also facing Hue Jackson who, as Raiders head coach, traded to acquire him. The Bengals are 8-1 and the Cardinals 7-2. Both are favorites to represent their respective conferences in the Super Bowl or at very least the conference championship game. The game starts now on NBC. Should be a good one. Enjoy.

Raiders once promising playoff outlook turns bleak following loss to Lions

The Raiders needed this one against the Lions. They desperately needed this one. At 4-5, they were clinging to playoff hopes and headed in to Detroit to face a 2-7 Lions team playing for pride. The Raiders came out with the loss and drop to 4-6 on the season, making their playoff hopes pretty dim. The Broncos won today which pretty much rules out any chance the Raiders have of contending for the division crown. They are now at 8-2 on the season which means they would basically have to drop the rest of their season for the Raiders to have a shot. That seems unlikely. Their best chance has...

Raiders offense hits season lows against Lions lackluster defense

Most predictions had the Raiders offense shaking off a down week against the Vikings in week 10 to return to form against the Lions and their weak defense. Not only did that not happen, the Raiders offense took another big step back. There was no semblance of the aggressive, high-flying offense that had put up but numbers in the three weeks following their bye week. In those three games, the Raiders put up 37, 34, and 35 points and looked nearly unstoppable. Last week the Vikings stopped them for the most part. But the Vikings have one of the better defenses in the league. The Lions do...
