Did Carson Wentz “over target” Zach Ertz?

Let’s clear this one up Earlier today a bombshell was dropped by Joseph Santoliquito of PhillyVoice, accusing Carson Wentz of being selfish and egotistical, and that he was causing problems behind the scenes. There’s a lot in it that’s straight opinion,...

Lane Johnson replaces Tyron Smith in the 2019 Pro Bowl

Lane Johnson replaces Tyron Smith in the 2019 Pro Bowl

Arguably the best right tackle in the NFL. Hey, here’s a big story for an incredibly slow news day! Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson is headed to the 2019 Pro Bowl to replace Dallas Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith, who opted out of the game. This is the second year in a row Johnson has made the Pro Bowl. While fans might not care a ton about Pro Bowl honors, Johnson certainly does. The 28-year-old blocker slept in his locker at the NovaCare Complex after learning he didn’t make the original Pro Bowl roster. He said he took as the snub as “an insult.” It clearly motivated...

How bad was Wentz this year? I keep hearing how bad Carson Wentz was this season, and while I agree he was inconsistent at times and generally too slow to get started, the bottom line is that even hampered by a knee that wasn’t 100 percent and a broken bone in his back, he still had a higher passer rating than Jared Goff, Andrew Luck, Brady, Dak Prescott and Aaron Rodgers. He played 11 games...

AFC Championship Game Thread: Chiefs vs. Patriots

Read on to learn how to watch Sunday’s AFC title game. Now that the NFC Championship Game is over, it’s time for the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots. Winner goes to Super Bowl LIII. The Chiefs are three-point favorites in this matchup. The Patriots defeated KC when these two teams played earlier this season but that game was in Foxborough. Now it’s the Chief who have home field advantage. It goes without saying that Philadelphia Eagles fans should be rooting for the Chiefs in this one. I don’t understand being bitter about Andy Reid at...

Report: Carson Wentz expected to be healthy enough to participate in Eagles’ offseason program

Excellent news. Eagles starting quarterback Carson Wentz is “expected to be healthy enough to be a full participant in Philadelphia’s offseason program in April if the team wants him to,” according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. Wentz has been recovering from a fractured vertebrae in his back that caused him to miss the Eagles’ final five games of their 2018 season. Schefter notes there’s a belief Wentz’s back injury is tied to the aftermath of the ACL/LCL injuries he suffered in 2017 but “there is no proof” that’s the case. Wentz potentially participating in offseason...

Philadelphia Eagles could work with Nick Foles to facilitate trade to preferred team

Nick Foles’ time with the Philadelphia Eagles is up. That much we know. However, how the Eagles go about Foles’ $20 million team option is the question. Of course, Philadelphia could simply decline his option and let him walk, but the team could also pick up his option and then trade him, or slap a […] The post Philadelphia Eagles could work with Nick Foles to facilitate trade to preferred team appeared first on ClutchPoints.

A handful of Senior Bowl prospects to watch for the Eagles

A handful of Senior Bowl prospects to watch for the Eagles

Taking an early look at the loaded showcase game... We are less than two days away from Senior Bowl weigh-ins in Mobile, Alabama. It’s draft season folks, and there isn’t a better way to kick it off than the best showcase game in all the land. I’ll be in Mobile to cover all the happenings and there are a handful of names that I’m overeager to analyze. This list is comprised of names I’ve done at least three games of film study on, so excuse any omissions. There will be plenty of time to gush about those left out names as the week goes on. Regardless, here are the prospects that...

Report: Eagles might be able to trade Nick Foles without having to use the franchise tag

This would be ideal. It’ll be very interesting to see what the Philadelphia Eagles decide to do with Nick Foles this offseason. The common belief is that the team will exercise his $20 million option for the 2019 NFL season. It seems likely that Foles will then opt out of his contract by paying $2 million back to the Eagles in an attempt to enter free agency. The Eagles could then try to franchise tag Foles in order to trade him ... but what if it doesn’t come to that? What if the Eagles could try to trade Foles in a situation where he doensn’t opt out of his 2019 deal? NFL insider...

Eagles pay Nick Foles $1 million in bonus despite falling short of goal

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is not going to lift another Vince Lombardi Trophy this season, but his wallet just got a whole lot fatter.
