Report: Eagles will host athletic Boston College offensive lineman on pre-draft visit

Succession plan? Boston College offensive lineman Chris Lindstrom is one of the 30 prospects from the 2019 NFL Draft who will be hosted by the Eagles for a visit in Philadelphia, according to Darren Wolfson (hat tip to @eagles_empire). Eagles offensive line coach/run game coordinator Jeff Stoutland got a close up look at Lindstrom during BC’s pro day earlier this week. Lindstrom getting coached up by the Eagles, we know he’s a powerful offensive lineman who can move defenders, but I am focusing on his feet movement. Looks solid so far, uses nice short choppy steps in this drill....

NFC East Positional Power Rankings - Center

Well this one shouldn’t be a surprise. Today we’re going to be covering one of the most underrated positions in the sport. The center is one of just two players who touch the ball on every snap and usually acts as the captain of the offensive line. It’s because of this importance I saved this position for last among the offensive players. If you haven’t been keeping up with BGN, please check out the archives below to see how other positions have stacked up. Archive: QB | RB | WR | TE | OT | OG 1. 3 Thoughts on the Eagles decision to bring back Vinny Curry

The Philadelphia Eagles brought in another familiar face with the signing of Vinny Curry. Here are our three thoughts on Howie Roseman’s latest bargain. That man Howie Roseman did it again. The Eagles continue to foster a locker room culture that draws players to the team

The Eagles continue to foster a locker room culture that draws players to the team

It says a lot when guys would rather be in Philadelphia than anywhere else — especially when they had other offers. The Eagles have been putting in work lately to secure some of the team veterans — Jason Peters, Brandon Graham — and have even brought back a few familiar faces including DeSean Jackson and, most recently, Vinny Curry. More than the team wanting to lock in these guys is the fact that they all (except Jackson who was traded) chose to come back to the Philadelphia locker room. There’s been plenty of time since the locker room saga of the Chip Kelly era, and with a Super...

Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 3/22/19. Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ... NFL experts predict: Answering questions on 2019 free agency - ESPNSeifert: Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s not forget what the Eagles have done, amid outsized concerns that they would be too tight against the salary cap to do much. They signed defensive tackle Malik Jackson to play alongside Fletcher Cox, as potent an interior pairing as there is in the NFL. And they brought back receiver DeSean Jackson, who is still one of the NFL’s top deep threats and is adept at the routes quarterback Carson...

Eagles proposed to change NFL's annual Dallas-Detroit Thanksgiving tradition

Eagles proposed to change NFL's annual Dallas-Detroit Thanksgiving tradition

Add another layer to the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles rivalry. The Eagles proposed to tweak the NFL's longstanding Thanksgiving tradition. Philadelphia brass is apparently getting tired of the Cowboys and Detroit Lions hosting games on Thanksgiving. The Eagles submitted a proposal requesting that the annual tradition be changed. The team's proposition asked to keep both the Cowboys and Lions playing on Thanksgiving, but requested that they alternate playing on the road every other year. The Eagles proposal sent to the league read: "To continue the annual tradition of having Dallas and...

Report: Eagles host some big name prospects on pre-draft visits

Interesting group. Oklahoma offensive tackle Cody Ford, Ole Miss wide receiver A.J. Brown, Penn State cornerback Amani Oruwariye and Arkansas interior offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt are four of the 30 prospects from the 2019 NFL Draft who will be hosted by the Eagles for a visit in Philadelphia, according to reports from Alex Marvez and SportsRadio 94WIP. CODY FORD Ford is one of the top offensive line prospects in this year’s class. The Draft Network analysts have him ranked as their second or third best offensive tackle despite the fact there’s some thought he should play at guard...

Eagles proposed to change an unfair advantage the Cowboys currently possess

But then withdrew it. The Philadelphia Eagles versus Dallas Cowboys rivalry exists even during the NFL offseason. The 2018 Super Bowl champions recently submitted a league resolution proposal that would attempt to rectify an unfair advantage that the Cowboys (and Detroit Lions) currently posses. Here’s the proposal (hat tip to Pro Football Talk): Withdrawn, By Philadelphia; to continue the annual tradition of having Dallas and Detroit play on Thanksgiving, provided that one of those clubs host a home game with the other club playing away, and alternating home and away games each...

Examining Carson Wentz’s past and future

Examining Carson Wentz’s past and future

The QB Scho Show #18! Carson Wentz is coming off what many saw as a “down year” in 2018. Considering his MVP candidate-worthy 2017 campaign and his offseason recovery from major knee surgery, it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise. What’s being lost in all of that is that Wentz still played at a high level for stretches of the season and projects favorably into next year. On The QB Scho Show #18, me and Mark Schofield dug into Wentz’s 2017 and 2018 seasons to analyze where things differed. Here’s a loosely transcribed introduction to some of the talking points that I...

Vinny Curry turned down other offers to come back to the Eagles

Culture! Most of you know the Vinny Curry story by now. The Neptune, New Jersey native grew up rooting for the Eagles and had the fortune of being selected by them in second-round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Even better, Curry became a member of the Eagles’ first Super Bowl winning team in 2018. Now, after a one-year stop with the Buccaneers, Curry is back where he belongs. And he’s sure not hiding how excited he is to be back. On could really sense Curry’s genuine enthusiasm during his conference call with local media on Thursday afternoon. EAGLES PR: I’m here with Vinny Curry. VINNY...
