Former Cowboys DE Charles Haley selected to Pro Football Hall of Fame

IRVING, Texas – You can no longer spell Pro Football Hall of Fame without Charles Haley. Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones often said his teams of the 1990s would not have been able to spell Super Bowl without the acquisition of Haley from the San Francisco 49ers in 1992. On Saturday,...

49ers rookies 2014 review: Chris Borland

How did the San Francisco 49ers' third-round pick fare? Did he exceed our expectations or fall short? The answer should be obvious. Throughout the course of last offseason, we ran a series of posts here called 90-in-90. They were a look at the 90 (or so) players on the 90-man roster at the time, what they've done to this point and what is expected of them heading into the coming season. For rookies, it was a look at their expected impact and odds of making the roster. We're going to revisit those posts now and see if we were right. First, I've decided to take a look at inside linebacker...

Will the 49ers get creative with offensive-coordinator hire?

The most important position on the 49ers coaching staff, maybe even more important than head coach – offensive coordinator – remains unfilled. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said he is staying with the Crimson Tide and Rob Chudzinski, both coaches of interest, will remain in Indianapolis. The fact that neither one wanted to coach a talented offense in San Francisco is telling and makes you wonder if the job is considered toxic in coaching circles. Chudzinski went from Assistant head coach to Associate head coach, while former 49ers assistant Pep Hamilton remains the Colts...

Any takers for 49ers offensive coordinator gig?

As Rob Chudzinski stays put, list of potential Greg Roman replacements continues to dwindle.

Report: 49ers add former ECU head coach Logan to offensive staff

Logan, 61, was the offensive coordinator when Tomsula was head coach of the Rhein Fire in 2006. He went on to serve as Boston College’s offensive coordinator (2007-08) and the Buccaneers running backs coach (2009-11). Logan, the head coach at East Carolina from 1992-2002, has been out of coaching since Tampa Bay fired head coach Raheem Morris and his coaching staff after the 2011 season.
