How many...

49ers roster cuts 2014: Adam Snyder released, but could he be back?

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly released Adam Snyder. Could he be back if the 49ers place Glenn Dorsey on injured return with return designation? The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their roster cuts on Saturday, and they made a move that is not shocking, but again, is a bit of a surprise. According to Matt Maiocco, the 49ers released offensive lineman Adam Snyder on Sunday. This followed decisions to cut Ryan Seymour and Carter Bykowski. More importantly, it would appear offensive lineman Dillon Farrell is the latest undrafted player to earn a roster spot with the 49ers. However, it...

49ers film review: A conundrum at cornerback, youngsters McCray, Looney look good

If a general manager's goal is to make cut-down day difficult, Trent Baalke has succeeded. He will begin the process of trimming his roster to 53 players this afternoon, and he is bound to have trouble at a couple of spots, including cornerback. Reserve cornerbacks Kenneth Acker, Chris Cook and Darryl Morris (pictured here in last year’s jersey number) are fighting for a spot on the 49ers’ roster.

HOUSTON – Two days before Thursday’s preseason finale, 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio left the door open a crack for rookie inside linebacker Chris Borland to win a starting job. And Borland followed by attempting to kick down the door. The third-round pick capped the exhibition season with the best performance of his fledgling NFL […]

Observations from Texans’ preseason finale

The Texans wrapped up their preseason with a loss to the 49ers. Here are some observations from the game.

What 49ers have helped themselves?

Jonathan Martin has made marked improvement throughout the preseason, particularly with his pass protection. Other players who have improved include Joe Looney and Tank Carradine. Also with what we have seen over the last three and a half preseason games, Bruce Ellington look like he might have stolen the returner’s job away from LaMichael James. As it looks now, I would think the 49ers would keep Chris Culliver, Tramaine Brock, Jimmy Ward, Dontae Johnson and Chris Cook at their cornerbacks.
