Edmonton Oilers winger Eager heads to AHL after clearing waivers

Edmonton Journal — No team grabbed Edmonton Oilers winger Ben Eager off the NHL’s waiver wire by Thursday’s deadline, so he’s off to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League. “I’m sure this was a hard day for Ben, with nobody picking him up,” Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini said after Eager lost the truculent team role to former Toronto Maple Leaf Mike Brown.
