Edmonton Oilers' hot pursuit of Benoit Pouliot ends in signing success

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers, who had salary cap room and holes to fill, wasted no time adding more pieces on the opening day of NHL free agency, signing defenceman Mark Fayne and winger Benoit Pouliot soon after the market opened at 10 a.m. General manager Craig MacTavish, who has revamped the roster considerably over the last week, then added depth defenceman Keith Aulie to the mix with a one-year contract.
