Kuzma: Brad Richardson feeling the pain, taking ankle rehab cautiously

Kuzma: Brad Richardson feeling the pain, taking ankle rehab cautiously

Brad Richardson is enduring some level of pain. It’s etched on his face, but he doesn’t like to talk about it. He just wants to play. Since being felled by friendly fire — a Chris Tanev shot off the ankle on Jan. 16 in Carolina that resulted in a deep bone bruise and a micro-fracture — the Vancouver Canucks centre missed 24 games and returned for just a pair in which he picked up points. His last outing was March 17 against Philadelphia and he hopes his next one is Saturday here against Dallas. If not, definitely during a four-game road trip that opens Monday in St. Louis.

The Leafs react to spring like their namesake does to autumn, it seems, but this game is always fun.  The ex- Ontarians in the audience in their Buds regalia adds to the atmosphere. This game also saw the injury list drop a page as four guys moved back into the lineup, with Richardson, Bieksa, Higgins and Weber ( although Burrows was out of this one with what the coach...

Canucks Hat Trick: Richardson really on radar; Bo knows Nov. 8; Kings really, really good

Three points to ponder as the Canucks take their latest litmus test tonight on the long road to the postseason against the playoff-proven Kings at Rogers Arena.

Brad Richardson on foot injury: ‘There was pretty bad pain’

Checking centre Brad Richardson’s ankle/foot injury has passed the seven-week mark and been one of the great mysteries of the 2014-15 season. He was hit by teammate Chris Tanev’s shot Jan. 16 in Carolina and was thought to be day-to-day. He missed the next two games and then joined the team for a full practice Jan. 26 following the all-star break. The next morning, a game day, he again skated with the team but left ...
