Dallas Stars Daily Links: Brenden Dillon Gets Speared

Defending Big D — Brenden Dillon had a bit of a rough go of it against Anaheim's Brad Staubitz, although the 3-1 Dallas Stars win may help ease the pain. Staubitz speared Dillon right in the most sensitive part of a man. Even though they wear protection, it still cannot feel good to take a stick there. He was a good sport about it, posting this on Twitter in response to a concerned observer: "@tronysuprise: Right in the Staubitz... #Stars #ouch @bdillon04 twitter.com/Tronysuprise/s…" ya that didn't feel to good #HittinTheHighNotesNow — Brenden Dillon (@BDillon04) February 9, 2013 Carey Price can rel...

Video: Stephane Robidas, Corey Perry Fight; Bruce Boudreau Upset After Spearing Incidents

Defending Big D — It seems there is some bad blood brewing between the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks, with Stephane Robidas and Corey Perry right in the middle of it. On Friday night the rancor between the two teams reached a new level, with the Dallas Stars taking advantage of a spearing major to Brad Staubitz and the teams resorting to several violent scrums throughout the game. This is something that has been building for a while, however, and essentially started last season. If you remember, Robidas and Perry got tangles up on a race to the puck last season that resulted in Perry slamming awkwardly...

Dallas Stars Extend Streak to Three Games, Beat Ducks 3-1

Defending Big D — The streaking Anaheim Ducks posed a mighty challenge to a Dallas Stars team just starting to find its footing a bit in a furiously condensed schedule Friday night, but were victorious on home ice, running their win streak to three games while cooling off Bruce Boudreau's high-scoring club 3-1 for a regulation win. Dallas jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first after two Brad Staubitz penalties put the Stars on the job early and often. Trevor Daley and Jamie Benn would provide the man-advantage tallies and the Stars dominate possession and scoring chances throughout. The second perio...

Group Therapy: This Ducks Group Playing Like a Team!

Anaheim Calling — No point in dancing around the subject, things aren't too shabby in Anaheim right now. Rollin, rollin, rollin… The Ducks, for the first time in who knows how long, are rolling four lines and they’re doing it well. Case in point, in the Ducks 3-0 victory over the Avalanche on Wednesday night, we saw the forwards’ time on ice vary from Brad Staubitz’s 9:56 (low) to Saku Koivu’s 17:30 (high). Take into consideration Staubitz spent at least five minuets in the box for getting his ass beat and Koivu spent time on both the PP and PK units. The team average for forwards was just around 15:00 ...

Viktor Fasth Shuts Out Avs, Ducks Win 3-0

Anaheim Calling — Final Score: Ducks 3, Avalanche 0 First Period Recap: This was a weird one folks, and it started before the puck even dropped. Toni Lydman was scratched due to the flu and Jordan Hendry was inserted into the lineup. No big deal, but Hendry didn't show up from Norfolk until midway through warm-ups. Brad Staubitz took a beating from Patrick Bordeleau two minutes into the game. From the camera angle above the penalty box it almost looked like Staubitz hit his helmetless head on the ice as he was taken down. Scary moment, but he was fine. The Ducks took the lead with a Sheld...
