The minute Brian Elliott stepped out of St. Louis and into a future(one season at least) with the Calgary Flames, 25 year old Jake Allen became the man. Ready or not, Blues fans, the kid is taking the reins in net for the foreseeable future and guess what, it’s okay. Blues Sign Carter Hutton, Extend Jake Allen's Contract

There's no 1A/1B tandem in St. Louis anymore. The Blues solidified their goaltending today by signing former Predator Carter Hutton to a two year deal. Doug Armstrong hinted at maybe attempting another 1A/1B tandem in net, but the chances of signing a 1B at the same term and value as Brian Elliott was slim to none.
