Bryan Bickell excelling on Blackhawks' second line

Since being bumped up to the second line with Patrick Kane & Brad Richards, Bryan Bickell has found quite the rhythm. When Kris Versteeg went down with a hand injury after blocking a shot in the Winter Classic, there were certainly questions as to how they'd replace him. While they didn't lack players with the skill set to play on the second line, there was the matter of finding the right fit in terms of chemistry, as the duo of Patrick Kane and Brad Richards had discovered overwhelming success in combining with Versteeg on that second line. Enter Bryan Bickell. Largely a regular season...

Marian Hossa still feeling good at 36

CHICAGO -- Bryan Bickell wishes he could have Marian Hossa's physique when he’s 36 years old. Actually, Bickell wishes he had it now at 28. “He looks like a 28-year-old,” Bickell said. “I wish I had the body he like he does. The way he works out, the way he prepares himself game in, game out, he’s a true athlete. I’m actually happy to sit beside him and learn some of the tips and the trades that got him where he is now.

Blackhawks gladly take time off after win

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell planned to catch up on sleep over the next four days. Bickell could have done that regardless of how he and his teammates played against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday because they had four days off before their next game. But the fact the Blackhawks put together one of their more complete efforts in recent weeks with a 4-1 win over the Wild allows Bickell and the rest of the Blackhawks to really kick back and enjoy their time off.

Bickell up, Carcillo in lineup vs. Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Chicago Blackhawks will make a couple of adjustments to their lineup Thursday against the Minnesota Wild, elevating third-line winger Bryan Bickell and re-inserting forward Daniel Carcillo. Bickell skated with Teuvo Teravainen and Andrew Shaw Tuesday in a 2-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche, but Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said he has been pleased with his steadiness. Bickell will move up to Chicago’s second line with Brad Richards and Patrick Kane.
