New Jersey Devils March 6, 2013Fire & Ice | Bergen Record The Devils announced this morning that they have returned rookie goaltender Keith Kinkaid and right wing Cam Janssen to Albany of the AHL. Jeff Frazee was called up from Albany to replace Kinkaid as the Devils’ backup goaltender while Martin Brodeur remains out with a back injury. Kinkaid, 23, made his NHL debut in Tuesday’s 5-2 loss to Tampa Bay, replacing Johan Hedberg 13:13 into the second period and stopping 12 of the 13 shots he faced. Janssen was called up Tuesday and played 5:37 against the Lightning. He also took a charging minor for a hit on Cory Conacher in the second period.

New Jersey Devils March 5, 2013Fire & Ice | Bergen Record Devils center Adam Henrique will make his season debut tonight against the Islanders after recovering from Nov. 29 surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb. “It’s nice,” Devils coach Pete DeBoer said of having Henrique back. “I thought we did a great job as a group of everyone stepping up while he was out, but he’s a big part of our team obviously and you can start to slot people in the right spots when he’s in the lineup.” Henrique, who technically is still on Albany’s roster, will be called up once right wing Cam Janssen is officially assigned to Albany. New Jersey Devils January 30, 2013Fire & Ice | Bergen Record The Devils placed right wing Cam Janssen on waivers today. If he is not claimed by another team before Thursday’s noon deadline, he will be eligible to be assigned to Albany of the AHL. Janssen was a healthy scratch for the Devils’ 2-1 shootout loss in Boston Tuesday. The 28-year-old right wing has played in three of the Devils’ first five games this season, averaging only 3:53 in ice time. He did not have any points or penalty minutes.
