You love SB Nation. You love reading hockey at SB Nation. Last night Kyle Palmieri slid into Carey Price’s crease and got punched a whole lot. Turns out, Price should’ve been thrown out of the game due to NHL Rule 51.3. Price says he didn’t know about the rule, but I’m not sure that would’ve stopped him anyway.

Devils cause Carey Price to get punchy but still fall to Canadiens

MONTREAL — After being run into for a second time in one period, ever-steady Canadiens goaltender Carey Price lost it. Canadiens vs Sharks game recap: The San Jose losing streak continues

Habs fall 2-1, and the winless streak in San Jose continues. It’s been over a decade since their last win in San Jose, and the Habs hoped to end the streak. They did not get off to an altogether auspicious start. The Sharks poured on the pressure in the opening four minutes, and the Habs took a very, very delayed penalty. Brent Burns absolutely blasted one past Carey Price on the power play, opening the scoring 5:22 into the period. The Canadiens finally got some push-back just under halfway through the first, but Martin Jones absolutely robbed Alex Galchenyuk at the side of the...

Jones is victor in Sharks-Canadiens goalie clinic

Goalie Martin Jones outdueled Carey Price as the Sharks continued their home domination of Montreal with a 2-1 win at sold-out SAP Center Friday night. Brent Burns and Joe Pavelski scored first-period goals while Jones made 31 saves as the hosts wrapped up a busy portion of their schedule — 10 games in 18 nights — in impressive fashion. The Canadiens were able to break through on the second half of the double minor and deny Jones’ shutout bid when left wing Artturi Lehkonen scored a 6-on-4 power-play goal with Price pulled for the extra attacker at 18:43 of the third period. After...

Jones’ dominant performance leads Sharks past Canadiens

The Sharks continue to stay hot. May the force be with you, Martin Jones. On Star Wars night at the Shark Tank, Martin Jones’ 31 saves were the difference in a 2-1 win for the Sharks (15-9-1) over the Montreal Canadiens (16-6-2). The Sharks would waste little time in scoring their first goal. On their first power play of the night, Brent Burns’ bullet slap shot was more than enough to get past Carey Price. Sharks Martin Jones: young goalie with big upside

If Canadiens goalie Carey Price is the gold standard in today’s NHL, Martin Jones of the Sharks just might be silver. The talk surrounding Jones centers on his calm demeanor, his efficient moves around the crease and his consistent approach to games, whether it’s preseason or the Stanley Cup Finals. Jones proved last year that Doug Wilson’s gamble, sending a 2016 first-round pick and a prospect (Sean Kuraly) to Boston in exchange for the ex-Kings backup, was a solid move. “For me, he’s one of the top goalies in the league, and he’s just getting better,” Sharks coach Peter...
