Boston Herald — WILMINGTON — For a guy who has spent most of the last eight years in the AHL or Europe, playing just 33 NHL games before this season, Chris Bourque got a heck of an opportunity with the Bruins.He did not take advantage, and yesterday, after passing unclaimed through waivers, was demoted to Providence.But B’s coach Claude Julien insisted this did not necessarily mean the 27-year-old left winger, who despite considerable time on the power play posted just 1-3-4 totals in 18 games, is gone for good.

Caron participated in practice at Ristuccia Arena Friday afternoon as the Bruins prepare to host the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at TD Garden. Caron has spent the entire season with the P-Bruins and has scored 10 goals with five assists for 15 points in 44 games, including a minus-6 rating.
