The hometown guy gets another shot to be a 7th defenseman. The Blues might be going in a different direction with their defense, as signified by letting Barret Jackman hit the UFA market today and giving Robert Bortuzzo a qualifying offer, but there is room on the team for a known quantity. Chris Butler has been re-signed, presumably as a 7th defenseman.
